CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Busterdog, thank you very much for your kind offer. I think at this time I have a much better understanding of Creationism from reading here and elsewhere, but it's nice to know I am welcome should I have a question.
That's how I view the rules.....I can ask questions here, but there are many other places to debate.
As an anology, I sometimes post on a gardening forum where some members advocate the liberal use of pesticides and chemicals. I'm a strictly organic gardener, but I'm not there to debate....I can ask a question, say thank you, and take the knowledge I can use. I must say that since I've been reading there I have used Round-up for particularly pesky weeds.

Personally I'd say it depends on how someone is asking. This makes the writing the rules harder.
To use exaggerated examples, "That sounds interesting, got a link for more information?" is a whole lot different than "Is there any REAL evidence for that from evolutionary peer reviewed journals because we can't trust those con-men at those lying creationist organizations?"
The problem is that I trust you to understand the difference -- but I don't know if everyone else would understand the difference. Some of the comments in the TE forum about this sub forum being closed before the rule change would lead me to believe they wouldn't.
