You could have something.Climate always changing, if no change, no change in weather ever.
Interesting way you worded that to sound like God sent the opposite of what Governor Perry called for. He's the guvna' of Texas, and he prayed for rain last year, and god sent fires instead.http://www.motherjones.com/mojo/2011/04/rick-perry-asks-texans-pray-rain
Texas is in the grip of historic wildfires that have destroyed nearly 1.8 million acres of forest and grassland in the state as well as 400 homes. The almost 8,000 fires so far this year are unprecedented, which last weekend prompted Gov. Rick Perry to call upon the national government for assistance. Now Perry is calling upon the Man Upstairs for help.
It's more likely the Hebrews co-opted contemporary creation myths and made them their own.
Good grief, the central story of Christianity involves a human sacrifice. How much more pagan can you get?
In other words, there ARE alternatives to burning stupid, dirty, deadly coal oil and gas.
He's the guvna' of Texas, and he prayed for rain last year, and god sent fires instead.
Rick Perry Asks Texans to Pray for Rain | Mother Jones
Yeah but that just proves that Rick Perry is doing a lousy job
Hey now, gen 4 nukes are controversial enough (fine by me) and could replace coal entirely. Gas and oil are lots cleaner than coal, and we're not about to do away with them just yet
To what 'other issues' are you refering? What problem do you have with it?It is a fact that there has been a measured 20% increase in atmospheric CO2 concentration from 1958 to 2007, from 315 to 380 ppm. Levels are currently some 35% or more above pre-industrial concentrations. Burning fossil fuels undoubtedly contributes. And everyone agrees that CO2 acts as a greenhouse gas, and therefore adding increased amounts of CO2 to the air should cause more heat to be trapped and warm the globe, all else being equal. But that does not suffice to resolve the other issues that are lumped together under the broad heading of global warming.
But they still contribute to global warming which is what this thread is all about. Oil is the most problematic to replace, but with the rise of electric cars and the possibility of building more electric fast trains to replace trucks, maybe we'll get off oil one day.
Since the predictions were a fail, call it what you like. Garbage comes to mind. These findings do not "trash cosmic evolution" as you claim. Not even close.
It is not my word that gave us the record of records. Yet we have it.And what might that be? Your word? Oh, I forgot, your word is really God's word, right? Funny how nobody else agrees with that.
Mathew 24:8
8 All these are the beginning of birth pains.
Mathew 24:7-8
For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences,[a] and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.
Luke 21:11
And there will be great earthquakes in various places, and famines and pestilences; and there will be fearful sights and great signs from heaven.
Luke 21:25-28
And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; 26 mens hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 27 Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28 Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.
It appears birthpains increase before giving birth, and Jesus isnt here yet, so I concur that you are in error, fatalist as it may be, things get worse before He returns, its just a fact!
But if it was built for me, then it would be a bathroom that untold millions of others did not use before in ages past!
Not sure if the lake of fire is a recycle bin? If we are born again and new creatures that seems to be more than regurgitated old creatures? Heaven and earth will pass away, does this mean recycled?
Looking at the loaves and fishes it seems to me that recycle is not the operative word either. Tossing an old bone in a compost pile or something may be recycling, but making a babe cuter than Marylin Monroe from it is something else! Reusing an old wine container might be recycling, but creating wine from water that was heavenly should be considered more. Adam was formed from the dust of the earth, but it was the breath of life that elevated the event to something more than recycling.
is this heaven and earth going to pass away and will He create a new one?
It will be cheaper to just renovate the existing as the economic crisis has pushed prices sky high! Unless of course he asks the Chinese to do it for him!is this heaven and earth going to pass away and will He create a new one?
Take it to the eschatology forum. I'm Covenant Theology Amil, and think the Olivet discourses were Jesus predicting the fall of the temple in Jerusalem, yes, the temple the disciples could see with their own eyes and were actually asking about. In short, and this is massively off topic: Jesus answered their question: imagine that! But he also answered their questions about the last days. So when he said "these things" he was saying that generation, that temple, that time. When he was saying "that day" it's the end of history.
yes know doubt he was speaking from their time period to the end of days, because he used terminology like "and then" and "immediatly after"
your problem is the anti-christ and His return are inseparable events, for it is His return that is completely tied to the demise of the antichrist.
your theology has the antichrist having already been here and gone, yet there seems to have been no return of the one who was supposed to kill the antichrist with the glory of His coming.
I find it strange that some Christians dont see how global warming is part of eschatology and very biblical, we see in Rev. 16:8-9
Then the fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and power was given to him to scorch men with fire. 9 And men were scorched with great heat, and they blasphemed the name of God who has power over these plagues; and they did not repent and give Him glory.
SO YES! a plague of global warming is coming and it is accompanied by loathsome sores, sea turning to blood, waters turning to blood, darkness and pain, earth utterly shaken
Oh yeah and after all that, we see the antichrist killed with the sword that proceeded from the mouth of Him who sat on the white horse, His name was the word of God..........wonder who that was?
Good question. Maybe other bible believers can try to chirp in here. I used to think that this earth at least the inner earth would remain, and that the surface would be burned off. The new earth would be the new surface I thought, but with the same foundations. The heavens would be new. I still lean that direction but am not sure.is this heaven and earth going to pass away and will He create a new one?
