I think it will, one way or another. The government will wait until the last minute to say yes. I think most states will switch over to mail in ballots.

That said, what will happen if the election doesn't go forward for some reason? I think it is the following:

Per the Constitution, the President, Vice President and Congress will have to leave January 20th. On the 3rd though, the Governors of each state will pick Senators, per prior occasions. The Senators will then follow the Constitution and pick one of them to be president pro tempore of the United States Senate, and that person would become President and then pick a vice president.

That is, if we follow the Constitution.

Ironic, isn't it? One of the stories that has been told by the people who are determined to overthrow the 2016 election has been that bad 'ol Trump with his allegedly dictatorial yearnings will cancel the 2020 election. But now we have that same political faction working to enact their leader George Soros' plan to have an election but make it a farce by keeping the identity of the voters out of sight of any election inspectors.

As I understand it, they've decided to keep Trump on indefinitely with no election at all.

They just got tired of messing with the democrats, and are also working on phasing them out completely.

I'm still looking for that misplaced link, so be patent. :D

Oh, the Right are largely authoritarians. They can't imagine a political party or faction without a Fearless Leader. They tend to want to project that role onto somebody in their opposition as well and sometimes it's appropriate. But it just makes no sense with Democrats.

Oh, the Right are largely authoritarians.
That is so wrong that I hope hope hope you are simply intent upon needling us by posting something so incorrect as that.

We have lately witnessed a surge of support for Socialism in our country and a number of new Socialist minded Congresspersons. Not a one of them is a Republican legislator. The hero of the 'Bernie Bros' is an admirer of Stalinism, the Sandanistas, Fidel Castro, and now Venezuela. No Republican he.

Increasing the reach of the central government--and their party running it, of course--is the goal of these people. They're not Republicans.

And on the other side of the proverbial aisle, we JUST TODAY heard again from President Trump about how opposed he is to the calls from his opponents and their lackeys in the media for him to issue more edicts, force all governors to do the same thing, and so on, when fighting the virus. And also to do away with the ability of states to operate their own elections. He instead affirmed the guarantees written into the Constitution.

Yes, your Fearless Leader is protecting you from the evil Democrats, a monolithic entity in thrall to George Soros. All hail Fearless Leader.

Sounds like dialogue from a bad sci-fi movie.

Oh, we will be fine, most of us have survived the first term of Trump, the next three shouldn’t be so bad.

1) Setting personalities aside, the mere fact that Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders have attracted widespread national support is a clear indicator that the current socioeconomic system is not meeting the basic needs of millions of Americans and they are actively seeking alternatives!

2) Governors who haven't imposed statewide lockdowns are not only placing their own citizens at risk but increasing the rate of infection in neighboring jurisdictions! Allowing :Spring Break" in Florida to proceed unchecked has created the situation where 1000's of potential carriers have returned to their home states to unintentionally spread the infection to their families and neighbors!

3) The sensible thing would be to conduct the 2020 Election as a nationwide mail-in vote but this President is opposed - requiring millions of American citizens to line up in close contact for hours, creating the perfect venue to spread the virus!

I wouldn't make too much out of that, if I were you. The same thing was certainly the case in 2016 and 2008 and most of the other presidential election years in the past half-century.
