  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

So what r u gettin him...

For Christmas that is. I'm curious to see what sort of things you're looking into to buy your man for Christmas. I'll Start:
* Just a side not my bf is a computer GEEK (a good looking one @ that  )
1. Laptop Software $50
2. Computer Adapter $100
3. Fingerprint reader $50
4. Wireless Keyboard & Mouse (with rechargeable mouse) $150
Alot I know but it's our last Christmas that we can actually spend alot of money on eachother.

My fiance is not a computer nerd.....he just looks like one.lol.

I bought him $250 worth of Xbox games i know he really wants. But i got em for about $150 coz of sales and staff discount etc.

We don't normally spend a lot on gifts coz we're not exactly rich and there's no real need. We have everything we need and a lot of what we want. I'd rather have people's presence than their presents! But yeh, at Christmas i splurge, and i know he wants these so thats what i got him. I might get something else if anything pops up, but probably not.

The End. lol.

I have no idea what I'll be getting him for Christmas. I'm guessing we won't be spending much on each other, since we both don't have a lot of money to spend, plus we are planning our wedding for the summer. Probably $50-100 is what I'm thinking. Maybe a DVD TV show or something... he's got quite the collection already. :)

I don't know yet either, but I'm not gonna say because I have friends that are on here that talk to him, and once in a great while he'll come on here and look around to. Now wouldn't that stink if he found out what he was getting before christmas...now I just have to figure out what he's getting before christmas. The other dilema I'm running into is I have more money to spend on him than he does on me, and anything he really wants would be quite obvious how much I spent on it, and I don't want him to feel bad for not being able to spend that much on me....any ideas?

You could set a limit on how much to spend on each other?

My boyfriend and I are not really in the business of spending a lot of money on one another. He pays often when we go out, and I chip in quite a bit too.
I'm in college, and not currently working, and he is preparing to make a big move cross-country (closer to me. yay!), so money isn't abounding if you know what I mean.
I bet we'll restrict it to something like $35.
We also want to make a scrapbook of the time we've had together. So, I think we may buy a scrapbook, and each make a few pages, and then make pages together.
That would be a phenomenal way to spend time around Christmas.
Making a swoony scrapbook and drinking spiced chai.

Christmas already? Wow! One reason is because his birthday is Monday, so he's got THOSE gifts coming from me. But I do already have one thing that I decided to not give him for his birthday but Christmas, which is a gorgeous dark gray leather Bible case. I'm going to see if I can get it imprinted with his name or monogram and maybe words like "man of God" or something similar. For his birthday it looks like I went overboard, because I got him quite a few small things. Maybe I did, now that I add up the price. But for Christmas he's probably just going to get the Bible case and a memory box from me, and maybe one other thing. Alright, I am done!

i knew what i was getting him in like january. (we started going out 5 days before last christmas...and i didnt get him anything!!!) he's a huge basketball fan(he plays state basketball (somewhat similar to college, just the teams arent associated with schools). so i'm going to get him a wildcat's singlet (his favourite team, and the number 8 for his favourite player "PC") then i'm going to the 'cats training to get them to sign it. i would have them sign it after their home games, but since my boy and i go together, that could prove difficult to keep it a suprise. i've already persuaded my little brother to come to the training with me so i dont have to do it by myself. then i just gotta frame it and give it to him. hoping he likes it. i thought about courtside seats (they're these plush couch seats right on the base line) but there are no good games left after christmas.
anyway. thats what i'm getting him..

You know I can't help but think how lucky guys are because girls are the EASIEST people to buy for, we love jewelery, and anything that makes us smell good. Now guys we always have to personalize it cuz all guys like different thing some like cars, some like computers, and blah blah blah, you get the drift.
I actually thought of something else that I wanted to get for him. He mentioned the fact that he wants a calendar. So I'm going to get one made @ Walmart with our pictures in it. So I hope he'll like it.

About that whole all girls love jewelry and stuff that makes us smell good.
Not true.
Yes, I like to smell good, but I don't want my boyfriend to buy me perfume or anything.
He's going to have to be more creative than that.
Many times, we've gone away from celebrating something, like my birthday, perhaps, where I didn't get a ton of stuff, but he took me out for a very nice dinner and a great comedy show. Those experiences and time spent together is more important to me than the actual "gifts" I would bring home.
Maybe I'm just wierd.

My bf is creative when it come to ANY occasion but when a couple just starts dating and they don't know eachother all that well, and a b-day comes up then they have to resort to the simple gift ideas, and no it's not all about the gifts but like I said when you first start dating it's hard to know exactly what the other person would like. Sorry I didn't explain myself very much.

You're not weird. That would mean so much more to me too than some jewlery or perfume. I do have a necklace that he gave me. It isn't that I like the necklace necessarily, but that he gave it to me that makes me like it so much. I love going places with him though, or just spending quality time with him at home. The only problem with being at home is that my parents tend to always come and talk to us which makes it rather difficult to get much of our own talking in. So we do a mixture of both.

I was just thinking about this the other day...I'm not quite sure what to get him!

I know he has mentioned that he wants...
--an iPod mini (he was jealous when I bought mine)
--some video games for the new XBox 360 that he's going to be buying soon
--DVDs (of course, what guy doesn't like movies)
--clothes (typical boy...doesn't buy himself clothes, lol)

I don't know if I will get him these things. I kinda of want to get him something a little meaningful, but I don't want to look cheesy!! Any suggestions??

I am not totally sure how meaningful you want it to be. BUT, if he would wear it, what about a shirt that says, "She's the lucky one" with a pointing finger on it? In turn, you'd have to buy the one that says, "He's the lucky one" to make it all the more fun. Just a suggestion.

What about getting a Bible verse that's meaningful to him engraved on a keyring, plaque, or even printed/embroidered on a pillow or blanket?

Does he wear jewlery? If so, what about a nice necklace (or bracelet, ring, even a watch)?

I have heard that most guys really appreciate getting flowers, even if they won't say much about it. This to me would be in addition to what else you get him. Like I've thought about if I ever did this for my guy, I would get him red flowers probably, since that's his favorite color. And tell him so, and that's one way to make it more meaningful.

Are his parents going to get him any video games by any chance? If so, you could check with them on which ones and get a strategy manual to go along with one or two.

If he doesn't have one yet, a nice framed picture of you or the both of you.

Would he appreciate a "gamer" shirt? Or just any kind of shirt. But to make it more meaningful, you could choose one in a color and/or style that you like to see him in, and tell him that or include a note about it tucked in the collar or something.

I have lots more ideas actually, but I need sleep now. :) PM me if you'd like!

I like making things for him, so this year I am making him a fleece no-sew blanket (cause we like to cuddle together on the couch sometimes) and the print is his favorite sports team. I think he'll like it :)
