I misread, I thought you were saying that the Sabbath is no longer applicable today.

You didn't misread anything. This is Canon 29 of the Synod of Laodicea:

Christians must not judaize by resting on the Sabbath, but must work on that day, rather honouring the Lord's Day; and, if they can, resting then as Christians. But if any shall be found to be judaizers, let them be anathema from Christ.

And this your error. It is sin that has bound us not God's LAW. All God's law does is give us a knowledge of what sin is *ROMANS 3:20 it cannot change us. Changing us is the work of the Spirit in the new COVENANT promise to love *HEBREWS 8:10-12; ROMANS 13:8-10.

God bless.

"To be sure, sin was in the world before the law was given, but sin is not charged against anyone's account where there is no law."

R 5:13

Law is what legally bounds a man.

Once again this is not scripture. It is mans teaching which goes against scripture. Now who should we believe and follow the teachings and traditions of men that break the commandments of God or the word of God?

Now, I see the day of rest being on the Lord's day (first day), but this is a little extreme.

Nope sin binds us *ROMANS 7:5. There is no scripture saying the law binds us. All God's law does is give us a knowledge of what sin is *ROMANS 3:20.

Sounds a little similar to REVELATION 3:18.

That is from Wisdom of Sirach, also known as Ecclesiasticus, a book of the Christian old testament. Sirach was canonized by the same synod that canonized the new testament. Feel free to open your bible and read it.

Let me also bump in here. The LORD'S DAY is the SABBATH. There is no scripture stating that Sunday or the first day of the week is the LORD'S DAY.

I think they tried to be extreme, because judaizers were such a danger in those times. We can be more liberal today, because judaizers have virtually no influence in the general church.

The word judaizer is only a term provided by the Roman Catholic Church in condemnation of all those who did not follow their man made traditions that sought to break the commandments of God. Like many of their other teachings.

It is in the Christian bible. The bible canonized by the Synod of Hippo. The same council that canonized the new testament.
Well if it's not in the bible today then God has a reason for it I think don't you?

You cannot lump believers who happen to rest on the seventh day with Judaizers, that is a miscategorization. No where does Scripture condemn a man for honoring the seventh day instead of the first day of the week, nor does it make him a Judaizer. That name implies much more than Sabbath-keeping.

It is in the bible today. All the original Churches use the original Christian canon.
