  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

The best part?

It's supposed to get colder tomorrow. Yay, more vodka!

It could be worse...

Be sure to have plenty of orange juice to go with that Vodka. You know, for balanced nutrition. ;)

Snipped to portion addressed. Longer post above.

Yep, I know when we lived in Montana (courtesy of the government) back in 1968, the average temperature was 50 degrees below zero Farenhiet. (The next summer, people were walking around with "I survived the winter of '68 tee-shirts" ^_^ ) Remember my husband having to wear special boots and only being allowed to be outside a certain amount of time--to prevent frostbite.

Alaska has those real cold temperatures and I'm sure that those of you in some of the areas of Canada also experience those uber-cold temps.

California had a frost and balmy 20 degrees last week.
Farmers/crop growers are worried - obviously - who grow citrus.
And i hear - advocados and whatever else cannot withstand the chilling temps.

This happened a few years ago too. Florida has seen very cold temps as well. So between Fl and Ca - our citrus prices are sky high.

I bet!
I much prefer the heat. I'd love to see Alaska but it's such a challenge to survive the elements in either time of year due to either the freezing cold in winter, or the mosquitoes that can drain you dry in summer.

Even though it's brutal cold, I much rather have this than the sweltering heat.

Add in another sweater, some gloves, a scarf, some vodka in your system and you're golden. You can control how warm you are.

Come summertime...oh boy. You can put on as little and as light clothing as you own but there's no way getting around the heat/humidity. Can't walk around town in the nude, but even then, I doubt it would help.

My posts are in fahrenheit.

Crystal - my friend who lives on top of the mountain had frozen pipes last night [still not sure if it is unfrozen today]. She lives in a trailer. They always have problems without pipes being in some basement or insulated area.

Yes, I live in a house, but it has no basement and the pipes tend to freeze if it's colder than 10 degrees. It's a major hassle.

I put a space heater in the bathroom, so I could at least keep the pipes from bursting. So far, so good.
