  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

A heat wave! That was warmer than our high temp the last few days. We're forecast for 4 above come Monday; what a crazy winter.

Its been weird here as well, they are forecasting 8C for Tuesday.

I am a bit worried for my garden, this kind of variation is really hard on the plants.

We're getting snow.

Discovered my car was out of antifreeze on my way to work...nice chilly [i could see my breath] 20 minute drive. Brrrr.
I had to put my hand inside my coat near my heart [warmth] and the other one to drive with i pulled out of the fingers - double layer gloves. Dangerous - a bit.

We are expecting and it is currently snowing - 5 inches. And the freezing temps to boot.
I may have the day off tomorrow if we get snow. Told my boss already. I dont drive in these kind of conditions. Especially in the car i have.

Sooo - i am ready and could have my bags packed - if there is any southern invites. :D

Kids have early dismissal.

We're expected to get snow later tonight, but with our meteorologists' track record, I wouldn't be surprised if we experienced tropical weather conditions.
Oh, it's coming.
This morning about 7 am - Ohio was getting theirs.
About 11:40 we started getting ours.
I figure by tonight you will be getting some too. :)

Put it this way - the sky line is broken up with 'trees' - otherwise its so thick and dense that it all blends into one white gross mess.
There is plenty to go around.

I heard we were supposed to get snow - about 1-3 am. Then they change it to tonight - but no - its coming in early noon onwards. Up to 5 inches possible - which we are closing in on.

Its likely you will be hit.
Run to the store for milk, eggs, bread, and TP. :D [thats what ppl do every time we get a snow forecast]

Those in the PNW get to await a time when Mt. Ranier wakes up and becomes another Mt. St. Helens. IOW, each area has it's own problems.

Yah, but ours is every year. We can usually count of freezing cold.
Last year was an exception that i wouldnt mind every year, except it caused mosquitoes to multiply.

So the good of having sub freezing temps is lower bug population. Which i hate bugs. So its a mixed bag.
More bugs or more snow and cold.
UGH!

Its like asking me if i want to chew on glass or dog pooh. :sigh:

LOL - i wish. I wish.
Had some customers who wanted to take me with them.. to S Carolina. Told them not to tempt me. Then they wanted to take me to the beach - for vacation. Man!!

I remember when my sister was in the army and my other sister went to visit her for her weekend off and they had to go to a hotel in LA - in Cali - my sister had to kick a HUGE roach or waterbug [whatever it was] off the terrace. They grow bigger in the warmer climates - nothing prevents their populace much either. [Like freezing temps]

Not certain i am up for that. But yah, a winter place in the south when i am rich - sounds wonderful. [like as if.... :D]

Move down south, Warrior Angel. :)

But avoid Oklahoma unless you like big grasshoppers. Florida is known for "palmetto bugs". Then of course, in the North when one has roaches he's considered "dirty" but in the South when one has roaches he's considered "socialble" (and some of those roaches are as big as mac-trucks ^_^ )

How are you about snakes? Texas has some nice water mocassins. :p And husband is from S.C. and he's not too happy about their poisnous ones either.

Texas has scorpions - knew one guy who ended up showering with one. So - um - wow, not sure that's my thing.
Yup - the warmer climates seem to breed bigger and uglier bugs.
Why is a [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse] roach considered sociable? Ewwww

Liz, not so sure you have seen the bugs yet - its still a little chilly for them to be wandering around. :D
