CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Ho! Cynical! But true!
If I may offer my perspective...
The 60s saw sex become recreational with no strings attached. Used to be that mainly guys were interested in a quick hook-up because they wanted the physical pleasure without the emotional work but I see more and more women becoming that way now. Younger guys might not be aware of the benefits of being in a committed relationship, especially if that relationship takes work like integrating with step-kids, etc. Plus we live in a society that puts great emphasis on convenience and disposable things, including people.
And like the man above said, "Women are like buses - another one will be along in 10 minutes." Unless you're in Chicago, in which case who knows when the CTA will show up?
Or to put it another way, if I guy can have the pleasure of sex with a woman without dealing with her feelings and PMS and what her mom says and if she thinks her butt is too fat and what her girlfriends are wearing and..., why not? I don't agree, but I think you'll find a lot of men who do think that way.
