have any one experienced this? you're sleeping and something wakes you. upon waking up u realize your body is immobilized. you cant move a muscle or make a sound? they say its called sleep paralysis and its educed by demonic spirits. mainly shadow people. I've been going through S.P and seeing demonic recently. I've seen them on 6 occasions. the 1st was like a stick man with a big head like from aliens vs predator. the 2nd was a shadowy humanoid figure with glowing green eyes. but those two was just looking at me from a short distance, i was awake and about, no paralysis. number 3 was when i was sleeping in my 11yr old brother room. he spread a blanket on the ground and lay there as if hes camping i was on the bed lying down. now in a state between sleep and wake i felt like a body weight just came on top of me so i taught my brother decided to come in the bed but with he sleepy self he fell there and knock out but when i looked down my brother was asleep on the ground where he went, then i realized i was under heavy paralysis, when i looked up i saw this shadowy, sandy humanoid thing next to the bed & up in my face. all it had was grey eyes and looked like a cross breed of something out of harry potter and the mummy. like i said my body was frozen, couldn't move couldn't speak i just started to pray in my head and the shadowy, sandy thing floated up and disappeared. 4th one was 3 days later, saw it in a dream, it was in the form of a lil child, black as tar, no face and 6 legs. it made my pores raised. i immediately woke up under heavy paralysis. i kept hearing growls and whispers right up in my ears, i started to pray and it got violent, i felt like something started pressing down on my belly and throat, i lost all control of my hands, they were moving on their own my fingers kept bending back themselves and i just kept praying after a few minutes it left. number 5 started off as a dream related to them then when awoke under heavy paralysis when i looked the entity's body it was see through and shadowy and it had the face of my own 11 yr old brother. when i prayed it got agitated i felt like a big hand squeezing my belly and a choking feeling but the attack wasnt as long as the 4th one. last one i saw was 2 weeks ago. i was sleeping after i came home from work. once again paralysis, the body was human like grey and its head was big, eyes blacked out, pointy ears and fine fangs. i started praying got the usual choking sensation then it left. but somehow i seemed to gain the ability to sense their presence, 1st it starts as a gust of wind blew in the room a split second, then the place is dead silent (like when you put in an ear plug headphone but nothings playing how it sounds muffled thats what i call dead silent), your pores raise, you feel a heavy vibes in the place, a sudden heat or coldness on your skin (for me when i feel the coldness it nightmares and when i feel the heat i awake to a physical attack). any one had similar experiences?

I had it happen once, maybe 20 years ago. It was intensely frightening, although in my case, there was no 'person', but I did hallucinate a big tangle of black lines on the ceiling like some kind of huge, frightening, spider.

These hallucinations and sleep paralysis are not caused by demons.

If you are experiencing it this frequently, I would urge you to see a doctor. It may be related to narcolepsy or some other sleep disorder.

You're just between asleep and awake, so you dream/ hallucinate these things while being half awake. People hallucinate/ dream all sorts of things while in sleep paralysis, not just demons.

I've had a noticeable sleep paralysis on two different occasions. It's not induced by anything spiritual. If you've been experiencing this a lot, get a sleep study done. There are several sleep disorders that can cause this. It could be something as simple as sleep apnea or something as complex as narcolepsy.

I've also had auditory hallucinations while waking. Although rare for me, I can certainly understand why they.would seem frightening. My wife has had many visual hallucinations while waking, many of them so real she reacted to them. She's also experienced sleep paralysis on numerous occasions.

Thanks for posting this and unlike the other posters I would attribute a spiritual source to such an experience which I had about 25 years ago now. It was similar to your experience though I saw no face (the figure seemed to suck the world around into itself but was essentially empty and dark) and was at a time when I had fallen away from the Lord. I remember praying (something I had not done for ages) with some passion for Jesus to save me from a dark figure that had apparently immobilised me. The first time it took several minutes. I had reoccurring visits for about 2 years afterwards. The last time I was waiting for him and was fairly aggressive in telling him to get lost in Jesus name/ something he did immediately. He has never returned.

More positively the occasional impression of the presence of angels , dancing , singing, fighting against hoards of demons coming at me or silently reinforcing my faith in Christ have all been encouraging.

Many of the objections to this line of thinking are essentially expressions of materialism and are an attempt to reduce the material world to merely physiological or "natural" processes.

Its not from demons. Alot of people experience it, myself included.

As for the shadow people thing. My ex-fiance was into that. Claimed shadow people were always watching her. Constantly she was paranoid about it. Recently a study was done and it showed "shadow people" are actually (obviously) a problem with the vision. If you look at this text as your reading, you may see something out of the corner of your eye. Dark almost and moving. Its your eye not making sense of what it barley sees. So people tend to freak out about it.

Its not a shadow person but simply a normal human problem we have with the sides of our vision.

Ok to the majority oqf ppl that say it aint spiritual and i was dreaming while not fully awake how do you explain the 1st 2 instances i wasnt asleep, i was awake and about. I saw the stick man thing while sitting on the back porch, no where near sleep. It looked at me and ran back. The second was on my job. I was loading goods on my trolleyam when i spun round i was directly behind my trolley just looking at me. It was maybe lil more than arms lenght away. If i'm busy working when would i get time to dream up such stuff. @mindlight thanks for understanding and i'm glad to hear it stopped botherig you. I told a friend on work and he think its a djinn. So i did research so S.P and the spirits that cause them. The most common is the shadow people, they feed on negative emotions like jealousy and fear, the second is the hat man, shadowy image like a shadow person but it wears a hat like a fidora and wears a cloak. They say theres a difference between shadow people and hat men but iforgot.

Next is the old hag, victims report seeing an elderly woman dressed in rags. What this normally dose is sits on the chests of their paralysed victms and gives them nightnares. Then theres succubus female spirits that have sex with men in their sleep, inccubus is the opposite.

Probably you dreaming with your eyes open. It's really quite terrifying, however there is another thing that could be the cause. If that is the case, I would try some protective cures. Maybe protective salts around the bed. If you google you can find some other things if that isn't your bag. Good luck to you OP.

The last one i know of is the djinn, thats what my co worker mentioned. Djinn comes in 2 types. I forgot the names but type 1, can poison you with a touch, their poison enduces a hallucination of your fantasies. What would be hours in the real world would be years in the hallucinated world. While youre hallucinating the djinn is feeding off your life source. The only way to save yourself according to what i read is to kill yourself in the haallucinated world. You die any other way you die in the real world as well. Theres testimonies of djinn victims online who saved them selves doing just that. The 2nd.type is very similar but instead of living your fantasies you'd be living your worst nightmares and suicide aint the answer. I forgot how to free yourself from this type

Sometimes the real issues are to with a persons personal well being and the real question is why they need to invent stories like this - consciously or subconsciously. BUt if it were a sight issue then it would reoccur throughout a persons life and would not be just associated with a particular dark phase of that life also. Also the type of perception of angels or demons would always be similar fitting whatever disorder the persons eyes gave them and this also is not always the case. My perception here is that you have bought into societies materialism to a considerable extent and have excluded a supernatural explanation by definition.

I hope you do not believe in alien abduction! Demons dressed in scifi clothing.

Like I said after that, there is something else it can be. A nightmare spirit. Which is why I said the thing about protective salts. Burn sage too that helps.

Pray it isn't a djinn. You really don't want to deal with any of that, or demons or elementals.

@salena no kidding with the djinn talk. Next thing you know i'm at an all time high in my life and suspectit was a djinn work and killed my self for nothing. I wonder if thats why celebs kill themselves? Cause the suspect they're in the djinn dream world not its all real. Like with kurt kobain. That would suck

You woke up, couldn't move, and saw a figure? Sounds like sleep paralysis.

In an age when we know that people can experience things that aren't real because the mind is a strange thing, why would you assume this figure was a real being?

It's about caring about truth. Science has gotten rid of the gods that control the rising Sun, clouds and lightning. Strange mental phenomena can be explained psychologically, and we know that the things the mind creates can feel real.

Considering the success of science, the reasonable thing to do is to think that strange experiences are likely psychological. Maybe they are demons standing around being scary for lol's, but that response isn't the most reasonable.

It is wise for Christians to make sure that their spiritual beliefs make sense as well. If God exists, or even angels/demons, it doesn't automatically justify spiritual explanations for the psychological.

Well it is quite impossible to tell you what an experience was without more information.

Out of interest, what did the figure look like which appear on the other side of the trolley? How long did you see it? Did it disappear?

How can you be sure it was there? Considering that people can see things which aren't there, why would you think it was real?

Putting a name to something or translating it into a psychological paradigm may sometimes be a distortion of what actually took place. What you call sleep paralysis refers to a twilight zone between waking and sleeping in which alternate dimensions of reality are sometimes glimpsed. Christians believe that God can talk to us in dreams or wide awake and so also the demonic has access to both these states of being so it would not matter either way.

I would be liar if I denied what I saw and its meaning was all too clear to me at the time. Psychology altooften seeks to explain without understanding the real event. There are greater things in heaven and on earth than can be generated from our own pyschological bubbles of reality.

Psychology is not a science and nor can it reduce the study of our consciousness to its own terms.
