Finally settled on a character after making a ton of different types. A Khajiit female. Mostly sneak thief type. Archery,Stealth, Light Armor, etc.

Lvl 37 and going back and forth between side stuff and the mainquest. Did some side stuff but waiting for 40 before I go into the guilds to get the best of the leveled items in the game. Just started thieves guild and am now on the second quest in that line. A little of the Daedric quests, though just working on Azura's so far. Btw I would recommend that one as a quest to do early if you are thinking of using Enchanting heavily. It's great for money and the utility of the star is pretty awesome.

Decided to slowly level smithing, keeping it in range of my combat skills. Mostly by after coming back to home base in Whiterun for loot selling. I'd use the leather I'd collect and whatever other raw material I had to upgrade the armor before I sold it. It levels Smithing at a more even pace. Combined with hiting certain crafting spots it's more natural.

Currently got Thieves Guild Armor, A set of Glass armor with a glass dagger, bow, sword, a set of foresworn armor just for kicks, and the Blades set for when I want to level heavy armor.

Perhaps annoyingly getting to at least Smithing 60 is almost necessary if you want a lot of the unique enchanted items you get here and there from getting obselete.

Also found out two neat things recently. Using the early flames spell as a mage in bursts is not only much more mana effecient than holding the button down. It also helps with damage because the game doesn't calculate and display damage from the spell for some reason if you hold the button down. At least it does on the 360. Also learned that using the 10-1 value to weight ratio when trying to decide what items to pick up and not to is very very useful. Though in the early game it's not a horrible idea to pick up most of what you find.

And lastly....the Nord Hero armor actually looks good, just wish it wasn't such low level.
I'm going to try that flame burst trick when I get back to my mage. I love the flames spell...

Oooh the plot thickens. I've just done the diplomatic immunity quest and I like how there is a twist.
Lots of plot twists...I love that.
If you like twists and you haven't done this one yes, it's a must.

Best way to level smithing is to make as many iron daggers as possible. Your level increases by the same amount regardless of what you make, and iron daggers are the cheapest and therefore most economic way to level up smithing. :p
I'm pretty sure leather bracers do the same job. But I'm not next to a forge to verify that.

I used to love Skyrim....but then I took an arrow in the knee! >.>

After now going on 400+ hours of Skyrim I've maxed every level, perk...etc I can. Not much else to do but the infinite quests. Unless I do like I did in Red Dead Redemption and Oblivion. Just pretend I live in Skyrim! :D

I was thinking about doing that, but I have other things in my life that need attending to. So I'm going to play my mage that I recently started thru the Mage Guild quests and just do a few other things, then move on to a warrior. Then do the Companions and maraud around a while then take a break from gaming altogether I think.

I've officially taken a break from Skyrim... I've moved back to LOTRO and finally started playing LEGO Harry Potter Years 5-7.
I never could quite get into LOTRO. Not quite sure why.

I'm taking a slight break myself. Not because I'm exactly tired of it, but mainly because I picked up Arkham City :D

Also I'm trying to max out my level in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood multiplayer.

Anybody wanna play? I'll stab ya lots of times :p

Urgh, curse you. Now I feel like I'm cheating.

Then I remembered that you can just pay gold to some dude and make the level bar increase automatically anyway, so if I'm going to powerlevel, I may as well do it more efficiently and through actual usage of a skill. :p

Reeeeally think they should have altered the amount of skill increase for each craftable item. It's not like level 5 players are going to be powerlevelling by creating Daedric armour or something equally advanced.

The whole system of skills increasing with use is a new one to me (and quite a welcome change having just finished a 160-ish hour game of Fallout NV) and in some ways it feels very natural, but it also seems very open to abuse.

Smithing does have that problem I am afraid. Stuff like Iron Daggers, etc will see you all the way to the bank. My next character I am just picking up the entry perk and the perk to improve magical items. I will free up some perks in other areas and whole my ability to improve the gear I find/buy wont be as good I can make that up in other ways. Looking foreward to 1.4 patch. It's supposed to fix a lot of quest bugs, etc.

Also, we need werebears in the DLC!

Haven't played for a while either. Too busy being a geek and checking out the Dark Ascension spoilers for Magic the Gathering.

Are you playing the PC version? The moment the creation kit is released, you're going to see a deluge of balancing mods. The last Bethesda game I played where I didn't end up with more HD space being taken up by mods than the actual game was daggerfall, and that was because no one really made any.

I took a break because I couldn't get past the guard. It was too frustrating.

But I love the game, so I started a new game as a lady wood elf. This game is different, Silva is in the Theives Guild and Dark Brotherhood. The Redguard never did those quests.

Those quests were really, really fun.

So I took my heavy armor, all-purpose (dual-wield, two-handed, one-handed...he does it all!) warrior as far as I wanted. I did the Companion quests. I tried even doing the Bard quests but ran into one big bug, then another. So I dropped that one. I roamed around doing little step-n-fetch quests for a while then realized I was about done with this character.
So I went on a rampage! Figured I'd go out with a bang. I basically went and raided Windhelm and fought Ulfric many times over. He really does have a great Thu'um!!
^_^
I burned and pillaged for a while then started another character...even tho I said I wasn't gonna. It was late and I was feeling punchy.

So I started a female Redguard specializing in Light Armor. I want her to be even more focused than the heavy warrior except that for her I will be getting a companion as soon as I can. So no enchanting and very limited smithing. That will keep things interesting! I'm planning on doing the Greymane quests to rescue their son so I can score some free Elven armor early on.
I want to keep her with one-handed without a shield as much as possible and also using a bow fairly often.

I used to troll threads like these, but then I took an arr--

Yeah. I won't be annoying with that joke. XD But Skyrim really is amazing. The graphics are so beautiful, and I haven't even played this game before. I go on reddit and I save almost every picture I see. They make beautiful wallpapers.

Agh, I'm so addicted to this game. I'm a level 24 Breton who's aligned with the Imperials. I've finished the main quest, the thieves guild, and the College of Winterhold and I'm working on the Dark Brotherhood.

I think I'm going to start a new game soon. I'll be a dark elf who joins the Stormcloaks, just to shake things up.

I really don't think I could ever get bored of this game. There's just so much to do and so many different options. It's probably the most beautifully-crafted game I've ever played.

Sounds like me! I was supposed to be "done" like two weeks ago, and here I am still playing!
I just got Aranea (Azura's lil helper) as a companion and she's pretty good as an escort. I've been having *lots* of trouble with mages and she definitely helps in putting them down for a nice dirt nap.

One does not simply "beat" Skyrim. ^_^

Do you find Aranea while with the Dark Brotherhood? Haven't finished that one yet.

I'm looking forward to getting Shadowmere...especially since I accidentally fried my war-dog in a fight with the Forsworn. D:
