I don't know about cynical, but definitely accustomed. But you can't do that - I heard you had a date, presumably of the comfortably tall variety! You know, belonging to an order is cheating - that way you get to spend time with other single folks of like faith.

I was thinking a re-reformed Augustinian order.... supports itself by engineering services and other endeavors?

I can understand I've experienced much very similar over the 7 years I've had internet and have met people. I even had one gal, we had a heap in common, she came to visit from 2 states away, we had a blast. Afterwards, we still connected and then boom, she got miffed for ...I'm not fully sure and it's been years now. It happens, sad that this thing can bring so many together and yet cause pain as well.

Some individuals come online merely as a form of entertainment and not to forge meaningful friendships; others are simply fickle. Unfortunately I have, for the most part, encountered those in the latter category and hence in my own personal experience, any online exchange that actually withstands the test of time is a rarity indeed. To be quite honest, I am ill-equipped for these kinds of superficial interactions and have therefore withdrawn myself quite a bit from settings that would bring about any one-to-one communications.

That being said, I have recently been blessed by a glorious online friendship with a godly gentleman who has greatly inspired me. I must say it is the most untainted, spiritual connection I have ever had with another human being. In fact, I cannot even begin to delineate the eternal impact of such a fruitful friendship: I am overwhelmed, humbled and without adequate words.

I must say it is the most untainted, spiritual connection I have ever had with another human being. KeilCoppes, this friendship is further confirmation that the Lord in His unfathomable goodness is inclined to bless rather than immediately castigate in order to bring his wayward children to repentance. It traverses beyond mere smiles, for I had been faltering in certain crucial areas of my spiritual journey and instead of afflicting me as I merited, He blessed me with this godly friendship that far exceeds all of my expectations. It has brought me into greater intimacy with Him in very numerous, wonderful ways.

Verily, no blessing can truly be enjoyed unless it is rooted in Christ!

In any friendship or any relationship, there are two people involved, each in their own situations. Sometimes one leaves the friendship while the other would wish for it to continue. As Christians, we're called to love our neighbors, so we have to respect the decisions of those we meet. Love is not coersive, it seeks to support and help with the needs of the other. If you find yourself as the one left behind in a friendship, all you can do is to be there when and if your old friend seeks you out again.

It's true that God brings us to friends when we certainly deserve less. God's grace is awesome! We deserve nothing, yet we're given everything. How amazing! Thank God for the friends that we do have.

Lord is without a doubt very, very holy as well as keeps his promises no matter what we do nor no matter what occurs as He is honest to goodness and blesses us through his holiness. When the world turns us down, He never, ever turns us down as He uplifts us with Him.
