  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Can anyone advise me on how to treat my 4 year old son's skin?
He has a red bumpy rash, it looks like prickly heat rash, on his shoulders and upper back. It may be aggravated by a slight sunburn, too.
He doesn't seem to be itchy, but he does complain that it hurts or burns sometimes.
I put a topical cream with aloe and hydrocortizone, but I don't think it helped.
I really need prayer for this more than anything. Thanks for reading this,
and any help would be appreciated.

How long has he had the problem? A cool washcloth might feel good for the burning. Have him go shirtless if he isn't already. Do you have some good lotion that you like to use yourself? I'd try that. I have sunburned feet right now and I put some body "butter" on them, as I tried this with my son a couple days ago on his sunburn. The redness was gone the next day. It has aloe, avocado, and shea butter in it.

Also, don't forget about the importance of plain old WATER to drink when it gets hot. It cools you off and keeps you hydrated. Make sure he drinks more water than anything else (juice, soda, koolaid).

Well, I pray that your son feels better very soon!

I second the water idea, and an opposite idea to the shirtless, DS when indoors rolls around on the carpet and that is agrivating his heat rash, so we try to get him air at night when he isn't rolling around and a shirt when he is on the carpet.

Sorry about your DCs rash :) hope it gets better soon.

Glad to hear he's getting better! :)

I was going to suggest using triple paste, because that's what I use on my 3-year-old for a bumpy red rash she gets on her legs. I've also used it on a different kind of rash on my arm and it also seemed to help that. Not sure what the active ingredients are, but you might want to check it out. They have it at Wal-Mart and it's over-the-counter but you have to ask for it.
