CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hi everyone. I'm new here. I'm somewhat shy but have a few friends but I tend to be extremely shy around guys which is part of the reason why I'm single. The other is a bit harder to explain. I was raised believing in God but I did not attend church when I became older... as a result the few friends I have are not Christians including the guys who I am sometimes introduced too. I'm trying to get closer to God though I must admit I don't know how much of the time. However I am attending a Baptist Church which I like... I admit I do enjoy Catholic Mass more. However, I do not agree with some of their doctrines such as Mary adoration, Eucharistic adoration and prayer to Saints and Mary. So that's why I'm at a Baptist Church but also because the people there seem close to God and are very loving towards everyone though I'm not sure that this where I want to be yet.
I hope I didn't give too much information here but enough so you know where I'm coming from and for advice if you have any.
Most of all I am looking for Christian friends who share my believe in God.
