CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Howdy All, I'm the new kind on the block and just wanted to say howdy to everyone here at the Christian Forum. I hope I've posted this in the correct place and if not, may the "powers that be" move it to where it should be.
I'm a "Born Again" Christian who has recently re-dedicate my life to Christ and I am looking to make new Christian friends to help me in my struggles in life which is why I decided to join this forum. I'm a 56 year young widower, retired (disabled), I live alone with my lil' buddy Drago who is a very cute Mini-Doxy and I enjoy music, photography, model railroading and I play guitar.
I'm hoping to make new friends here and I look forward to my time here.

I'm taking a short hiatus from Wednesday afternoon til Saturday evening... I'm going away to our church's Family Camp we hold ever year. I'm needing this with all the emotional stress I'm under. So, I'll be here til Wednesday around noon then I'll be back Saturday night sometime

Hi everyone,
Lately I've been finding that I spend waaaaaay too much time on this site, I don't think it's healthy for me to be here. I'm obsessively analyzing posts, getting addicted and recently have been unable to think about much else except conversations going on here. It's a personality flaw that I have unfortunately. So I'm going to quit cold turkey. I just need to get a life and focus on some other stuff, that's all.
Shout outs to Baam, Wild Heart, MacFall and the lovely Miss Spaulding
(Seriously, all the best with this thing you're going through with your grandma.)
