  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

is catfish mentioned
in the Bible?
maybe when the israelites
were wandering around for 40 years
they stopped by Georgia.

oh yeah
about the op
i know about
3 "available" Christian girls
where i live.
that's my excuse.

ah sarcasm  but yeah, catfish don't fall under the description of what kind of fish was clean to eat, they're scavengers (catfish can nicely clean up a polluted pond but eating them is just putting the pollution in your body)

we now return you to your regularly scheduled OT thread

I'm pretty much single cause my work/school has forced me to not be in any one place for more then 1 yr. Thats about to change and i'm sure this will lead to a more serious relationship. Who knows though,,i'm so content being single right now. I get to go hang w/my friends, go to the gym, run, bike, ride my motorcycle whenever i want...its great. Being single = freedom. Enjoy it while you can.

Hehe, well hey there are no Christian girls at my church who are single so I dont have any choice hehe.
Being single is freedom....well yes..all my friends are married nearly and I see that...they always in trouble by their partners if they dont tell them absolutely everything they are doing...but hey..I am ready as any of them for that committment and I desire to have children...maybe is ok to say being single is freedom when you are under 25...but once you are over it...I know everyone is different but I am a traditional guy who desires to marry from the moment i leave school. The joys of sharing your life with someone who is your best friend makes me smile. :)

I love my singlehood. I love my privacy and also my independence as well. I just don't really, really feel comfortable at all having a mate just yet. I just really like my own space and also just to be alone and experience life as well. But people are different. And they have their own opinions.

OK, I'll bite. I move around too much! It's not really fair to either party if I am getting serious with a girl and then tell her that I've moving away. I suppose that if I found someone crazy enough to follow me around on my wacky adventures, then I would just take her with me.:) Really though...if I didn't have some fun being single, then I would just stay put and settle down. I don't mind being a single, fun loving guy for now. When I get lonely, I just call my mum.:D

Because I'm fat and poor. Women in my city want the exact opposite.

(Sorry, for the rash generalization. It's a lonely night.)

I'm starting to see that there aren't any really important benefits when your involved in a relationship. Alot of overratedness I say. Singleness is too much fun, too little stress and much more $ in your wallet. :D

there are definite bennies to being single, Paul wrote that sometimes it's better to remain single so you can better do God's work here without being tangled up being responsible for someone else/a family etc.

on the flip side, when Adam was solo God said, "tain't good, noper" or something to that effect ;)

You are so not fat. Now as for poor...hehe j/k. If a girl needs you to spend lots of money on her to be happy then you should run away from her lol.

How do I find it (I am new and lurking).
ps: I have beautiful christian daughter who says there is a serious lack of christian guys "on the market". She is only 18, and I told her the Lord has someone for her - no hurry, just to enjoy growing up and become a self sufficient adult first. (She is in no hurry either).

Keep praying for her. It is a challenging thing to find committed and stable Christian men. And many of both the young men and women are still living in a dream world rather than building dreams in the world God has given us. If she trusts you, keep doing what you can to help the situation.

(from a quarter-swede who was too old inside when he was young and simply missed the boat. Now considering aiding the boat-making industry -kc)

  1. I have yet to find a Godly woman that wants to be in a relationship with me. It is ovbious that Godly women are out there, this forum proves that, but they have not crossed my path yet.
  2. I cannot financially provide for a wife. I want to get married but I cannot provide for her, and that is what God tells me to do. So if I cannot do what God is telling me I need to do then why get married?
Do not get me wrong though, I do not want to be single, but I cannot bring myself to be with someone that does not share my views of religion. Why spend the rest of your life with a mate that cannot agree with you on religion? God holds the family together and it is through him that we prosper. If husband and wife cannot stand on common ground when it comes to the Bible then there are serious problems. Differences in opinion of religion have caused wars, succession, migration, and the splitting of churches. It would only make sence that the same issue can cause the seperation of a man and woman that otherwise love and care for each other.

I personally feel that it is because the fear of ending up bitter and getting hurt in the same way that the youth of today have seen their parents go through, in today's society there are not many positive influences for marriage (yes even in the christian community, we divorce more than secular people **problem here**). There has been such a downward spirial of the society here in America over the past 30 years or so, The youth of today and yesterday are growing up in broken homes, where there really is no mother or father figure at home anymore. Yes there may be "Adults" at the house but it no longer a home anymore. It just just a place to sleep. The core FAMILY has died. and from the way that things look here in America if the Christian community will not GET ON OUR KNEES AND PRAY FROM OUR HEARTS FOR GOD TO WORK A MIRICALE then all is lost for the God ordained marriage that He set forth for us to follow.

I'm very picky. I'm also very protective. I think I've got the "Hedgehog's dilema" meaning that the closer I get, the more likely I'll hurt and get hurt. But before I sound too tragic... I basicaly haven't found the right girl and I'm not interested in spending time in a relationship I'm sure won't go anywhere.
