Uh-huh. Conan O'Brian's clips are not that.

I looked for some links myself. Let's start with this one:

I checked the first four stations identified in the video (KIDK, WHTM, WDHN, WTVM). Three are ABC, one is Fox, and none are owned by the same company. But it looks like they probably grabbed the lead-in text from CNN (text search for "you don't need us to tell you"):

CNN.com - Transcripts

I checked another one:

I didn't bother to look up the station id's, but I did find this:
How Did 27 Stations End Up With Identical Scripts For a Story About Conan O’Brien?

I'd like to make a "Rambot's Law".
"The word "truth" in the title of a youtube video indicates I'm not going to watch it"
For me it's that stupid hat. You're indoors, take off that stupid hat. But if I see the word "takes down" or "epic" in a video title, I know I'm not watching it.

But I like Rambot's Law, I'm going to start using it, it could be another law that comes out of CF.

Sorry Dude. Canadians are never permitted to take off our toques. But if that weirdo lives in Phoenix and he's wearing that in April? Bah!, I say.

Sidenote: @NightHawkeye, was it in this thread that you put all those videos? CAuse I can watch them tonight but I don't know where they are.

I thought it was funny. Local news anchor's do read off a script, and you can tell it at times. lol they have videos online of anchors trying to keep it together to finish them a times - they are normally giggling at something.

Well, all news anchors use a teleprompter. So on that basis yes they are all reading from a script.

It really needs to be made clear that there is a distinction between local news affiliates getting a story from the same source, and thus the story being a carbon copy or near carbon copy across local news outlets across the country; and corporate pressure to read an editorial script in order to promulgate spin.

These are not the same thing.
