Don't you know anything? Anytime anyone in the Bible does anything Good, thats evidence of divine influence, any time anyone in the Bible does anything Bad, thats evidence of demonic influenceSo what excuse did the other men used as focal points of Bible stories have when they did "bad things"? King David had an abundance of positive influences in his life. He was considered a man after God's own heart. So what drove him to engage in some rather unsavory behavior?

Cool. So it's the general consensus that King David and Lot could continue to wallow in certain sins and still be favored by God? Does that mean a gay or lesbian could still be favored in God's sight, despite their "sinful nature"?
If you would kindly note that King David repented and renounced his sin.
So, David can't sleep with his wife? As a forgiven man he is certainly able. Bathsheba was no longer forbidden.
Under Judaic Law, Bathsheba could have been executed for having relations with King David. And considering the fact that David had her husband, Uriah, murdered in combat just so he could take Bathsheba for himself makes her sound pretty darn forbidden. But I suppose things like adultery, rape, murder and polygamy are acceptable so long as you continue to repent of them.
So, Floatingaxe (By the way, I like your name and I love your logo) ...what do you think about the article in the OP? Do you think it has merit or do you still opt for the original translation? If the latter, would you give your reasons?

There is no similarity for the unrepentant and continuously sinning homosexual who says he is a Christian, yet doesn't renounce his sin and leave it at the cross. That would be hypocrisy of the first order. We all know what Jesus will do with them.

Irony overload. I seriously think my brain just imploded.
On a more personal note I'm simply curious, because I've read a lot of your posts here. Are you ever happy?
At the least, FA DOES always come across as being very stern indeed.
God is all about forgiveness and restoration, and especially with David, the man after God's own heart, his relationship with God is a demonstration of that kind of intimacy we can all have with God.
There is no need to stand in judgment of David's sins, as he was fully forgiven and restored. To stand in judgment of one whom God has nothing against is just wrong. You have your own sin to confess, if you wish to have a relationship anything like David's with the Lord.
Good to see then that you acknowledge that marriage is not only one man and one woman. After all, if marriage is merely one man and one woman then David, by continuing to sleep with his wives, was committing adultery; particularly David sleeping with Bathsheba, the wife he took by murdering her husband.
get a grip people, these debates sort of sadden me , the end of days is fast approaching when homosexuality is being defended by apparent christians, the world keeps teeling you that homosexuality is fine, your born with it etc etc.. and because your a friend of the world youre being seduced, the serpent's whispering in your ear 'its not true what god said you know' this homosexual acceptance will extend to paedophiles soon enough if their not one in the same already.
Floatingaxe, I'm just adding to what you wrote. David definitely did some extremely horrible, sinful things, and this is an example to us all that if we truly repent then God will be with us again. It also shows that homosexuals are not beyond redemption because David did far worse things. The key is "true repentance".
