  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

SIN IS STILL SIN

A sin that seems to be getting a free pass by many in the ecumenical church of today. But no matter how many Christians conform to this sin or ANY sin. Sin is still sin no matter how popular it becomes.

Isaiah 3:9
The look on their faces testifies against them; they parade their sin like Sodom; they do not hide it. Woe to them! They have brought disaster upon themselves.

You mean usury and in-hospitality? I agree, it does seem to be pretty common among Christians these days, not just the "ecumenical church of today".
Luke 6: 35 said:
35 But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for he is kind to the ungrateful and the evil.

Yes, and the sad part is many think they are being "righteous" by accepting the world's definition of sin.

Definition of Ecumenical:
1a : of, relating to, or representing the whole of a body of churches
b : promoting or tending toward worldwide Christian unity or cooperation
2 : worldwide or general in extent, influence, or application

There's an ecumenical spirit in to today's Christianity that ignores the consequences of sin. Rather than "offend" by exposing its deceitful destruction they glory in their "passive benevolence" as they prance and strut their way down the ecumenical high road.

Since I’ve been preaching the Gospel on the internet I’ve been awakened to the temporal value many have placed on this precious love story. A value that may appear righteous until that gospel is threatened under a fleeting popularity. This is when the persecution of the gospel changes into the “ecumenical high road”. A false high road submerged in a phony righteousness longing to redefine the sufferings of Christ. With trendy names and "positive thinking" they long to tickle the ears with promises filled with "a peace without suffering". But how will these trendy preachers defend the sufferings of Christ when everyone is against them? Will they defend the gospel when all that remains is the love demonstrated on an old tree? Will they stand strong or will they crumble under the solitude of a lonely hill? When the tide turns and the offense of the cross is barreling down on them, which path will they choose? I wish I could present some positive numbers, but my eyes have grown accustomed the popularity of the “ecumenical high road”.

This is the ROAD OF RETREAT! When the offense of the cross has been demonized as “intolerant”, “bigoted”, “narrow minded”, “dogmatic”, and “full of hate”. When the pressure of the majority overwhelms a person’s tolerance to stand firm on the blood that sanctified them. This ecumenical high road is nothing more than a scapegoat into a FALSE righteousness that leads away from the wisdom of Christ Crucified. This is the chosen path when persecution changes to compromise. When the Grace that set them free is rationalized for a feather in their cap, a wider gate, a pat on the back, praise from men, and a spirit that abandons the POWER of a PERFECT FORGIVENESS! Shipwrecked on the shores of this "high road" they wallow and gloat in their compromise of the gospel, and the demons laugh as another victory has just crashed and burned on a high road leading away from the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ!

Galatians 5:11
Brothers and sisters, if I am still preaching circumcision, why am I still being persecuted? In that case the offense of the cross has been abolished.

Galatians 6:14
But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.

Indeed, Christians are so insufficiency fractious these days.
When conformity is king, the offense the cross has been vacated for the deceitful, corrupt, and fleeting carnal wisdom of man. Because only through Christ Crucified do we find Christ the power and wisdom of God.

OK, how about you present some solutions or advice and encouragement on how to prevent or get set free from the behavior you are criticizing. You're not preaching the gospel if you tell people they are doing something wrong without pointing to a solution. To not do so is to present an unbalanced gospel of condemnation only.

Christ died for our sins, not a false definition of sin. How can they even begin to be free if sin is no longer sin? We have to start at the beginning for freedom.

Which means what in practice? What actions do you think need to be taken?

You really don't get it? You're helping no one if you point out wrong behavior but don't point to right behavior. That's not good news.

First of all, freedom from sin can only happen under the truth. If someone is embracing the world's definition of sin, they will never be free by hiding from the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ. Sin must mean sin before freedom in Christ is found.

There is no freedom from sin if you change the definition to contradict what Christ died for.

If sin is no longer sin than the sinner is no longer a sinner, and only a sinner has need for a Savior. Is that simple enough for you?

Right, step one would seem to be continue spouting buzz words. It’s like a corporate pep talk in bible speak.

How could you possible think you can give the answer for sin (who is Christ) if you take away the problem.... SIN?

buzz words? Sin is a "buzz word"? Sounds like you've been drinking the world's ecumenical water of death.
