  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Yea I can't believe how cool it looks either. Like a live action comic book. Can't wait.

One of the reasons why I love it already. :D A comic to theater transfer that doesn't lose the comic feel in the process. :D

Finally, Robert Rodriguez makes something that actuall looks interesting. He hasn't lived up to the potential he showed with "El Mariachi".
And Frank Miller co-directed. I expect he's not straying much from the comic books. I saw the trailer. It looks sick! I'll probably see it but I'm not so eagerly waiting for it. There are better films to spend my hard earned money on.

Just saw it. That movie was an amazing experience. For the members of this board remember that the movie is called SIN City. It tells you right there in the title what to expect. If you understand that you may be ready for one of the best movies this year. However, you have to understand going in that this movie is quite literally a frame-by-frame translation of a comic book on screen. It’s all clichés and film noire dialog from people who always talk to themselves. In Sin City the sun never rises, the streets are always wet with rain, men are nearly invincible, women are objects, and violence is the cause of (and solution to) everyone one of life’s problems. You’ll be surprised and horrified at every turn, but you won’t be able to remember the last time you enjoyed a movie this much.

My Personal opinion about the movie is I didn't like it. I thought the story line was drawn out and I thought that it was to long 2 Hours and 15 minutes. Plus it was kinda different from other movies that I like. I thought it was a strange movie. Plus I didn't like some of the reference's in the movie. A lot of crosses wore worn by people that were bad but they had a cross. I thought that was wrong. That is my opinion.

Thanks,

i don't think people should be complaining about the level of violence in the movie considering the source and the fact that it's rated R and the trailers all display violence and the title of the movie has "sin" in it.

and the length shouldn't be a problem. it's an anthology of short films. but aside from that, it's also a film that is inspired by a comic book whose source is film noir at its finest (the josh hartnett scenes). it also contains experimental film techniques (it's digital and black & white with splashes of color), a running type of narration as the characters "talk" in their heads, some of the finest casting in any film produced thus far, and a display of over the top acting and equally spectacular dialogue THAT DOES NOT MIMIC THE REAL WORLD. it's a comic book movie, after all.

miller's touch is in the frames of film. rodriguez renders the world that's very reminiscent of georgia o'keefe whether he knows it or not. since miller's art is black & white (for the most part), the film finds a middle ground between sharp contrast and the grays inbetween.

there is depraved indiffrence to human life, but it is a comic book world that is all crime & violence and salvation through them. it's a very vivid experience and full of originality from concept to execution. you'd be at a loss for missing the film because of preconceived notions. the bits of humor thrown in numbs the violence enough to still access the scene. when the villains meet their end, as villains often do, they are fully deserving of it.

i hope everyone sees it.

I'm going to see this movie on Monday, I can't wait.

In the preview, they showed a chick thumbing off the blade of a katana!
That is all they had to show to get me to watch it.
Then on top of that it has Micky Rouke and Bruce Willis!

I don't remember anything else, because that is all I need to know.
