I like baseball. Basketball is okay. I can do without football. I find soccer incredibly boring, although I can follow it. I can also do without Nascar/car racing.

Baseball, the thinking man's sport? Maybe that's why I like it alright.

If we must rank them:

1. Football (with a slight edge to pro)
2. Baseball
3. Basketball
3T. Hockey
4. Golf
5. everything else

Golf comes before "everything else" in this list. Ugh. . .I'd rather watch a lot of things other than golf! Golf is for when you need to fall asleep. . .watching it, that is. . .not baseball. . .

Nothing quite as inspiring as a good Union Rugby match. Real hard to catch a great match like the Lions (England) vs the All Blacks (New Zeeland). I think tv doesn't like a continuous game with no commercial breaks. Rules are 2 40 minute halves with a 5 minute half time, two substitutions allowed per game for disabling injuries only.

American football is good, but too much standing around between plays for my taste.

Then that great up and comer curling just has to get in there, the tension, the precision, just exhausting to watch a tight end with a lot of garbage up front. Local team just missed going to World Championship again this year.

I really enjoy volleyball, but the only thing on tv is beach volleyball which seems designed to sell sunglasses and "swimsuits".

I also enjoy the acrobatic motorcycle or snowmobile meets.

Tractor pulls were great, but they disappeared when a tractor got over $100,000 now you just see a few super modified, so the best thing is to go for the lawn mower races instead.

I love Rugby, unfortunately, unless you have full digital or some fairly extensive dish, it's hard to get on TV.

It really irritates me that ESPN2 will show the "World Eating Championships" but not the Rugger World Cup.

Drives me nuts.

I've written letters.

I don't get FoxWorld.

We have a local team the DRFC (Detroit Rugby Football Club) whihc has an Old Boys team I've considered joining but I am afraid my insurance premiums would go up...

Anyhow, If I could see more Rugby, even if it's only the WC, it would rank higher than golf.

I'm actually trying to get into baseball...I just don't know who to root for, yet...it's embaressing to go for Houston after last years series...

since I moved to San Antoino I've started watching Basketball (although I do like hockey better)...Here...you better know how the spurs did if you want to call yourself a sports fan...there is a 90 year old lady I go to Church with who is in her spurs regalia every sunday...and she can tell you points, rebounds, assists,...everything...

and what is wrong with golf?...the Master's is this weekend for crying out loud...

Yea the masters has had some moments. Garcia couldn't get it together friday. Woods is down the charts, maybe he'll play "catch-up". How bout the 17th hole green and the balls all rolling back down hill allmost to the rough....yuck.
Forgot who had the hole in one....that roled back down hill back into the cup to....weird.

Hus,

Since you have no allegiance to any team, you have an open slate to choose from. You could even go with a northern team like say the MINNESOTA TWINS. But hey you also have the Texas Rangers down there. They have some good players.

Hey, Hus.
If SA gets the Marlins, you may have the chance to get into Major League Baseball.

The Rangers are good, but even Arlington is a 4 hour drive from SA.
Texas is a bigggg state and I've had to drive too much of it for too long.

It's almost as long a drive to Arlington as it is to Houston...yeah...rumor is SA might end up with the marlins...if we do we have GOT to change the name...considering the water problems we have here (as in we have no water)...most of my friends are hoping we get a football team, but we'll settle for baseball...

Trivia question...

What do the Minnesota Twins and the Texas Rangers have in common?

They both started as the Washington Senators!

I wonder why Washington is the Nationals now?

Senators is such a historic name.....

Anywhoo... I'm an Indians/Reds fan myself. Listening to some Minor League Ball right now.

Well, I always gotta be faithful to the 'stros. "Lutheran Day at the Astros." Got to see 'em play a few times. Closest Major League team to me, too. . .so. . .
