I have an atheist friend who loves nothing better than to bait me.
After the usual discussion about how unfair Hell is we got talking about the "big picture" of what exactly will the infinite future be and what was the infinite past about.
This is a gross over simplification of the status of life so bear with me.
God creates the Universe including Earth, mankind etc. We have this enormous problem of sin in the creation and the enormous price that Jesus had to pay to forgive some of us for sin.
Is there any credible information or theory about why God planned this for mankind? Is the battle over sin a lesson for other beings like Angels? The fall of Lucifer would indicate that sin existed in heavenly places so is mankind a way for God to establish His righteousness to the entire Universe?
By the way, I'm not talking about aliens when I say "entire Universe" so this isn't a science fiction question.
