Shrek 4-To See or Not To See

I love the first two Shrek movies. I hated the third. Now the final movie comes out and I feel torn. I want to see how it ends because of my love for the first two...but I don't want to spend money on another flop like 3. It doesn't look particularly good to me, but I thought the original looked bad from the trailers too. I'm thinking about seeing it tonight, but I'm hesitant.

Also, I heard that the 3D IMAX tickets for it are $20 in some places. WTH? Talk about pushing it.

I kinda liked all 3 movies and the new one is in 3d but it does seem like a bit of a cash in, the story does sound kinda interesting though but I wouldn't go in with high expectations.

Some cinemas have a discount if you watch it on a certain day, I would look into that.

I know a few people who have already seen it and they all say that it's a pretty good movie. I'm going to take my daughter to watch it some time this week.

I ended up going to see it today. I didn't think it was as good as the first too, but it was a lot better than the third. I would probably of waited to rent it, but it was a good enough way to spend an evening.

My son and his 8yr. old daughter didn't much care for it,and said the new Toy Story looks like it will be much better.

We loved it! Emily and I giggled the entire movie..I thought it was very funny.

Probably a "don't see". They should have stopped about three Shrek movies ago.

This one is not the greatest,
it could have been funnier.

I think they could have made 5 or 6 movies on these characters and still been good movies, but I think they settled for weak stories and and have sucked the life out of it.
I rate it an:
Average, better then three worse then two and one.

This is not How to train your dragon, 3d I don't think it would be worth the cost of 3d.

Comparable movies:
Toy story is better
Despicable me is better

See it at the cheap theaters, or on video. Not worth $8 a person.

We saw it at the bargain theater last night (where we see most of our movies). It was pretty good. I thought it was pretty much on par with the other three.

Shrek 1 was horribly overrated and it's only been downhill since, so I know I'm not going to see it, although I'm sure you may not appreciate the bias of any suggestion I give you. :]

I actually liked the 4th one! I hated the 3rd one so I wasn't sure about watching it but it was in 3D and I wanted to see what it was like

I loved the first and third and absolutely hated the second; the fourth was "eh." I definitely didn't see it in the theatre.

then again, I also absolutely hated the third Toy Story movie. Couldn't even finish it.

It was good. Not great, not bad, but right in the middle for me. The first two remain my favorites and I refuse to ever own the third.
