Should the SDA Forum Be Split?

I thought in the new rules Sophia posted that only 'regulars' could come in and vote. So many of the liberals were recruited by Ice to come and out number the SDA's. The very reason why this rule was put in place was to avoid what actually has happened!!

I believe this poll should be declared invalid.

* Participation in the development of General Rules is encouraged by all membership. However, participation in Sub Forum rules should be limited to those members who regularly post in those categories.

Most of the people who voted in this poll have not been here for over a year.

I disagree you can't go back and change the voting system just cos you dont like the results. Your facists tendencies are showing......

To those who are concerned about the validity of this poll because it did not first go to the Wiki, it is not invalid.

The Wiki exists for the purpose of establishing rules for our forum. Voting on a split in the SDA forum does not really constitute the making of a rule.
Therefore, I don't see what the Wiki has to do with this.

Set up a Sgt. at Arms from a fair and honest person , give him a few deputies to do some 'enforcement' and report any 'true' violations to the mods, and restrain the serial abusers, and we are set to learn, study and have friendlier and more meaningful discussions......

Last I checked you and no one on here as a monopoly on the Adventist name, btw the name won't get you into heaven so why be so territorial about it? I look forward to the second coming of Jesus and observe Saturday as the Sabbath. Perhaps you do not hence you wish for someone like me to disappear? If we split we split, the world will not come to an end based on what happens on this forum no matter how some people rant and rave. I found it very suspect the moment we talk about splitting, the progressive side goes and recruits old members to come and vote to alter the outcome. And for the record, i have no problem with democracy!
And as for being territorial over a name. You betcha i am sister! I hold dear to the name Seventh Day Adventist and what it means! I uphold the name by following and believing the 28 fundamentals. That is what it means to be an Adventist! To believe and follow the set beliefs. If you dont like all the beliefs, with all do respefct, then change your affiliation.

Remember the Jews that killed Jesus were 'good church going, rule following Jews'. Keep holding unto 'a church name' in this life cos you sure can't take it with you in the next.

This is true if this is simply a casual vote just for information which because it was put up without discussion of the formation of the poll is really the only way it can be taken.

If taken as a casual poll then it does not matter who votes on it, as casual polls do not have requirements of who may vote.

Our problem I think was the Sophia redid Woob's poll and we started thinking it was an official rules and forum structure poll. Those polls have specific rules as to who can vote, those being a member prior to July 4 and regular members of this forum even if they don't have an SDA icon.

I am sure i will be hearing the words from the Lord saying well done faithful servant when i get to heaven.

But following your logic concerning the name. Anyone who believes that Christ is there Lord and they are awaiting his second coming can call themselves Adventist. So in that case, Baptists, Catholics, Lutherans, Presybeterians, Methodists, etc. can all call themselvees Adventists. Why not have all them come in here and vote and display the SDA symbol next to there name.

It goes deeper than that.

Now I understand were the initial split came from, but as you can see there is not really a need for a divide, we all discuss and debate at BSDA and disagree but still care for each other at the end of the day, we have set aside the hate and racor for the most part and get along. Why cannot this be so here......
