2Corinthians 3: 14 But was calloused the minds of them.
For until the today, the same covering/kalumma <2571> upon the reading of the Old Covenant/Testament is remaining, no being up-covered/ana-kaluptomenon <343> (5746).

Revelation 1:1 An un-veiling/apo-kaluyiV <602> of Jesus Christ, which gives to him, the God, to show to the bond-servants of Him which-things is binding to be becoming in swiftness
Wouldn't we all. But why? Would it keep the return of Jesus being put off. I am ready to say Come even now Jesus.

Eschatology
Ya think? I like the way this one Christian commentator put itThis guy isn't Catholic but it's close enough IMHO to post.....
...Fr Hopko goes through and clearly shows Rev isn't a puzzle for people to hob cob together.
It does need to be studied and I can attest to the fact that as a new Christian, you shouldn't *only* study Revelation as an isolated book. Every little thing in Revelation connects to either another chapter of Revelation or a vision or scripture from the rest of the Old Testament or New Testament. So instead of taking other's words for what it means, which usually exclude many many many references, check every single concept of Revelation to another part of the bible... like the beast, the harlot, the mountain cast into the sea, etc...
...it really is amazing and beautiful and genius, but it can also cause a lot of grief and arguments (as you can see in the Eschatology forum above. lol!)
What did you like most about it?Thanks for the video with Fr. Hopko had not seen this one
I do not think that new doctrines should be pulled out of Revelation, that is should be interpreted in light of the NT and the rest of scripture.
I agreeI do not think that new doctrines should be pulled out of Revelation, that is should be interpreted in light of the NT and the rest of scripture.
Never heard it put that way before but that sounds very logical to me.As well as its historical and literary context. The Revelation shouldn't be treated as though it were "super-Scripture", somehow above or outside the normal and healthy hermeneutical and exegetical applications that we use for the rest of Scripture.

As Christians, and those anticipating the coming of our Lord, should it be of importance to the body of Christ to study and understand the last book of the bible?
There are many incorrect theories floating around about what Revelations teaches, this being the case, shouldn't the church have the best understanding (as good as possible that is) in regards to this book?
Even move, do you think that Revelations is important to salvation and our mission to preach the gospel?
I do not think that new doctrines should be pulled out of Revelation, that is should be interpreted in light of the NT and the rest of scripture.
