God answers every prayer, but He doesn't always answer yes. I can also tell you that God does answer some prayers in the affirmative, because He answers some of my prayers in the affirmative. I think though you may have a mistaken impression of what prayer is for. It isn't just asking God for things, it's also communion with Him. It's talking to Him and expressing your heart to God more than it is asking for things. Now think about this: When Jesus prayed in the Garden for the cup to pass from Him, God answered no. If there was ever a prayer God would have wanted to answer yes to, that would be it. But Jesus prayed, not my will, but your will be done. That's also the way we should pray.

If you know you are saved, that Jesus has covered your sins with His blood, how can you be disappointed with God? You have the only thing that is worth anything in this world; your salvation. If you traded your salvation for all the riches and all the land and all the things of this world, you would have made an unprofitable deal. Why don't you love Him for that? The bible says we should be content with the things we have because we have Jesus in our lives. Why aren't you satisfied with Jesus in your life?

Here is the million dollar question; are you seeking God for who He is, or just for what He can do for you?

Yeah, *I'm* narrow-minded? Right. You have your religious answer above, read it. Sports and all other forms of media are condemned too.

You remind me of a friend of mine who, after converting to evangelical Christianity, took all of his CDs and smashed them in the street, wasting thousands of dollars of his own money.
lol i'd hate to live your life honestly. how can one believe that having fun is a sin. its like going out to the streets to reach the lost and enjoying it is also a sin.having fun and enjoying time with friends and family is a sin. to that we be just a boring robotlike people that do nother but serve the lord everysecond of the day. not saying we cant serve him but we can do it while we enjoy friends, family, and games.

Wouldnt this question fall under this passage?

"Everything is permissible"--but not everything is beneficial. "Everything is permissible"--but not everything is constructive. (1 Corinthians 10:23 NIV)

If only everyone would read the Bible from now on rather than some old hyper-conservative's view on life and change.

I was just curious lol..:234:
No, I was agreeing with you. That is exactly how every Christian should think. Is this profitable? Yet, some would prefer to use someone's personal convictions as the basis for God's plan for everyone. It is quite disgusting. But thank you for not being one of them!

Yeah, I try my best to think like that verse when im concerning worldly things. Sometimes i do, sometimes I don't. Still going through things everyday thinking if it's profitable or not. Useless or not.
