imagine what one evil out of two can do to America in four years.

We're just electing a president, not a god, not a king.

As to that, America's greatest strength is its peaceful transition of power after a set number of years. That peaceful transition is far more important than who gets elected.

.........and the Chinese annexing the South China Sea, more than 500 miles from the Chinese mainland? Military aircraft installations? Then there are current Putin threats against eastern Europe. Do we acquiesce, as with Iran? Syria? The Middle East? Do we just stay at home, waiting for Chinese-Russian next move? Shelter in place?

World War III?

You think any of that stuff is new?

How can a Christian support abortion on demand?

It's beyond comprehension.

The completely barbaric murder of defenseless children for which they will one day answer. Both those who kill and those who stand on the sidelines and cheer will answer for their roles in the massacre of the innocents.

How can a Christian support cruel discrimination against women, often poor, who are prevented from getting adequate medical care, resulting in the death of the mother as well as her child?

Also, what is the source of your statistics? US Department of Health or Breitbart?

Millions of "the poor" including illegal immigrants, are receiving free medical care at hospitals across the nation. Financial support for struggling hospitals comes from where? Those who pay the bills for the poor, the uninsured, the illegal immigrants. They can fit in the miniscule problem pregnancies requiring removal of the child. There are more than enough hospitals without the genocide fostered by PPH.

Yet they DIDN'T declare war?

Well what STOPPED them?

China has been preparing for war with the United States for quite some time. That's why they declared a air exclusion zone in the East China Sea and have been constructing artificial islands and air bases in the South China Sea since 2015. In all likelihood, the Chinese will declare an air exclusion zone in the South China Sea close to the Philippine islands in 2016 as well.

The Chinese also have three aircraft carriers in production that will join their first carrier Liaoning (CV-16) which conducted combat air operations in Syria along with Russian forces in 2016. The DF-21D (the fastest surface to surface nuclear capable missile in the world) and dubbed the "carrier killer" by western military experts is just now coming on line. The missile can be launched from both surface ships and submarines, and western analysts say the missile has been specifically developed and deployed to counter U.S. carrier forces.

Since 2015 China has also deployed an unknown number of H-8 and H-9 long range Stealth bombers, Jane's Defense Weekly says are comparable to the U.S. B-2 Stealth bomber. In addition, China will complete deployment of the Dongfeng-41 "road mobile" long range intercontinental nuclear missile system capable of hitting targets anywhere in the USA by the end of 2016.

According to western intelligence and high ranking U.S. military sources China has also started moving medium range nuclear missile launchers toward it's border with Afghanistan and U.S. forces deployed there.

What are the Chinese waiting for ? Appears to me they are waiting for the end of 2016, or sometime in 2017 to start confronting the United States militarily.

No. There are certain things countries have to do in order to prepare for war. Military forces have to be forward deployed, and new weapon systems have to be completed and deployed. I just covered lots of that in the previous post # 286.

BTW. The Japanese started pouring concrete, reinforcing caves and building bunkers on Okinawa in 1938. They also developed and tested the shallow running torpedoes that were later used in the Pearl Harbor attack in 1940.

"Those who can not remember the past, are condemned to repeat it"

(The Philosopher George Santayana 1863).

War is coming between China and the U.S., and it's coming sooner than anyone realizes.

Thank you for your response. And you are correct. It behooves us to be aware of this. In addition, it's high time we began praying for this here United States of America, amen brother?

Times are dire and we are on a yawning precipice, at the very edge, tottering.

Care to join your brothers and sisters for prayer for our nation at this most dire and pivotal time?

There are at least two threads praying for our nation, the most recent from , Sis Chinwendu, a dear sister in Christ with a powerful link to a song that is precious and a powerful reminder of how the fervent and effectual prayers of a righteous man (or woman) accomplishes much.

"The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." ~James 5:16

It's not about abortion!! That's right-wing propaganda. It's about a woman's right to choose her own medical care. Why do conservatives want to murder innocent women by condemning them to back-alley, risky, dangerous medical procedures?

Wouldn't that be uh

Abortion?

Nobody cares about your conspiracy theory BS, friend. Take it to the CT forum.

If I were presumptuous enough to try and throw someone out of a thread (which I've never done here in CF), I would at least be smart enough to go back to the first page and make sure I wasn't talking to the OP. Lol. I started this thread friend.

Also, as war is the most evil and wasteful thing I can imagine, I believe it's entirely relevant in this thread to consider which of the two candidates are most likely to take our country down that path and why.

I am greatly disturbed and at odds as to how to resolve this issue. This election in November has been characterized by American voter's as a choice between "two evils". Should Christians be voting in such an election ? Wouldn't we be voting for "Evil" in either circumstance ?...

I've heard plenty of CF members express their conviction to vote for one or the other of the candidates. I did the same a few weeks ago, but now as the election draws nearer, my conscience is saying NO. I seriously don't believe I can walk into an election booth and pull a lever in support of someone who represents something that is patently "evil".

So for the first time in my adult life, I have decided I WILL NOT CAST ANY VOTE.

What do you think ?!
I was recently watching an Adam Curtis documentary series called The Century of Self in which it was pointed out interalia that the American Christian vote was heavily infuenced by deliberate PR (propoganda) tactics during the post war years.

Formerly it was common to find Christian people and congregations that played no part in the democratic political process. Apparantly at some point the political gurus realised that the Christian community was a fertile but untapped source of political riches and placed a lot of emphasis on making voting a Christian duty.

For any Christian thinking about this dilema I highly recommend this documentary. It is quite staggering how much of our culture has been deliberately and openly influenced without us even twitching an eyelid.

Christians are pawns used by anyone. They were more passive because there was no need to be active. The public schools weren't yet teaching 6 year olds that homosexuality is the best thing since sliced bread, for example.

Everything good, pure and holy has already been destroyed or about to be by Progress Liberalism, which is nothing less than the undoing and destruction of God's work. Christians should oppose such at every chance we get.

I also am not voting. But it is more personal.

I am physically disabled and was blamed for everything that went wrong in two different situations. One marriage, and one long-term relationship. The authorities bought their lies hook-line-and-sinker.

Donald Trump made a crack about someone with a disability.

Hilary feels women can do no wrong. That by virtue of their gender, they can do no wrong. That they are above reproach.

On Election Day, I am staying away from the polls.

Whether you like Trump or dislike Trump, he did give an excellent speech at the convention last night.
Apparently, the people thought so, too. CNN's poll showed that a majority of people were more likely to vote for Trump after hearing it while only 10% felt less likely. Three out of four who were polled felt "positive" about the speech.

Considering that the speech dealt with cold hard facts that Trump felt had to be addressed and that he chose not to deliver a "feel good" pep talk, those are quite some stats!

and

I believe whoever gets elected in November, is going to have to deal with Putin when he pulls the nuclear trigger, as he has threatened to do on so many occasions.

Your focus has been on what China might do and what Putin might do (no matter who's elected), not on what either of the candidates might do.

It is predicted that over 40% of the voters will vote for the worst, duplicitous scofflaw in presidential campaigning—-Hilary Clinton. Of course these are the low info people and those who are influenced by color, gender and hate.

I would rather think about the future of our world when we meet an alien species who are also christian's born in another realm and we have no means of communication but we each instinctively know we are angels due to the major difference between prosecution and love then become friends :). there's to much knowledge to be gained i would rather have the bare minimum amount needed to suvive and not worry about stuff. just let the holy spirit and the spirit of god(spirit of truth) guide you!

To frame an issue correctly is the first step in coming to a correct diagnosis, conclusion & resolution. This thread is framed under the heading - Should Christians Choose Between the Lesser of Two Evil's in the 2016 Election?

The proposition that this heading makes is that this election is about two people who are either evil in & of themselves or would bring evil upon the peoples of America. As for are the two candidates evil in & of themselves - yes, absolutely, all of mankind is. Would they bring evil upon the peoples of America & what types of evil would they support is really SOLELY the question that should be debated.

A less obvious insinuation of this heading is that some are of such a sterling spiritual character & sanctified so thoroughly as to be able to rightly judge these candidates & thereby outrightly reject both of them. Such people must be so far advanced spiritually then I am for I still shudder to make such an assertion. I am both but feeble & hopeless as I still count myself as simply a sinner saved by the grace of God.

To my chagrin, I confess the depths of my ignorance. It is a new-found freedom to not have the bondage of attempting to make an informed choice as to the suitably of these sinful, evil candidates. I feel as Pilgrim relieved of the weight strapped to my back! How wonderful is this - to walk unencumbered by the fetters of having to shift through the available evidence to choose the better of the two candidates, the one who will make for greater religious freedom.

What a relief to no longer have to analyze, ponder & weigh between the two. Thanks to you refusing to vote posters my conscience now can & will exonerate me from the trials of using my mind. I need not be strapped by accountability to deciding. Happy days that the eyes of my conscience have been finally opened. Begone the mental myopia that had afflicted me. What a breath of fresh air to be freed from voting. Yes, I can now live at peace with my belly-button.

No, I am no longer dogmatic & seeking for answers. Yes, I do repent from any pretense to intelligence. The immaturity of my ways is patently obvious. How arrogant for me to feel & believe that a reasoned choice was called for. I lived the mistake of neglecting the sensitivity & spirituality of my conscience as I was relying exclusively on my powers of understanding. The solution to my quandary is now crystal clear. How ignorant I was to hold jer 17:9 close to my mind & deliberations - “The heart is more deceitful than all else And is desperately sick; Who can understand it?” Surely my conscience is trustworthy! Isn’t it?

Yes, I do now get it. Truly, it was simplistic of me to presume I was voting for the candidate who would allow for the greater good. Foolish me. The flatulence of my reasoning has finally been purified by the colo-cleanse of heeding your not-to-vote wisdom. Now I understand how vital it is to avoid every semblance of participating in evil. There will be no more blood on my hands. I will sit at home smugly prideful of being more astute & discerning than the tortured voters.

I was so very old-fashioned. Can you believe it - I actually would get on my knees & pray for God’s guidance! How dated am I? Close to being obsolete I imagine. My goodness - how much more comfortable & pleasing is the lotus-position. So smoothly does chanting om flow off my unpursed lips. Tension begone! How welcome it is not to be encumbered & involved with complicity to evil. I feel as haven been washed & purified. Free at last to sink into the netherworld of neglect.

I ask your indulgence & patience. The truth is that I am of such weak character that I find old habits, pet peeves & chosen sins hard to forsake. It will take some time for me to find my way in this freedom of adjudication by conscience. As a newbie to this superior reality I sorely need guidance. I still find it impossible to validate & embrace the semantics of abortion being health care rather than outright murder. Such obfuscation & mental gymnastics stubbornly eludes me. But, I am focused on moving beyond the narrow stricture of there actually being right & wrong. Equivocation here I come.
