I'm a 22 female living down in the cities of Minneapolis. I have two great parents and two older brothers. I'm the youngest. I have had short hair for about three months and recently got my hair even shorter on the sides. As people say I have a really tight fade on the side and longer hair on top. I'm a Christian and I'm by no means perfect. When I showed my hair to my mother I was all upbeat and happy but she was very mad. She asked me what I was trying to prove and that her girl should look like a girl. I love my hair short and I don't think I look like a guy. Now my older brother is saying I look like a guy as well and that I'm seeking attention. Also, I'm changing but not in a good way. That the world is consuming me and I'll soon be doing drugs and pronouncing I'm a different gender all because of my hair. I just feel this so silly to be fighting about this with my family. Also, when I started to talk about Jesus my brother said: " quite pulling the Jesus card". What is that post to mean? I feel pretty and confident but why does my family have to be so mean.

Well, to be honest, I would think you are an SJW but I don't know you so I couldn't say anything else.

What is IDC?
What is SJW?
Shows my age, forgive me as I just noticed this was in a 20s thread.
For what it is worth I have VERY short hair and I am Christian, if people are so " short ;)sighted " to judge you on your hair I say they have a major problem.
I love short hair , the only visual thing that I think is unseemly for a Christian is revealing clothing.
In the end you will have to decide for yourself, but we there is way more to us than our hair- or lack of it!
God loves you, thanks what's most important.
God bless you dear one.:)

What does SJW mean?
From Urban Dictionary:
Short for "Social Justice Warrior" these types of people get triggered by essentially anything that doesn't fit in their bubble. They often want every form of media to be "Politically correct" so they don't get triggered by it. Often degrades and swears at others who don't agree with them.

Short hair can have a different connotation between a 20-year-old girl and a 60-year-old woman.

Oh way to go then, make me feel old!;)

I also had short hair in teens and 20s:)
It wasn't even that popular then but I've never been what you said a SJW is.
The only concession I would say is that I have always worn some makeup and didn't look male.
Grew my hair off and on but never liked long hair, actually hated it and always went back to short.
Anyway really each to their own as far as hair goes, there's way more important things.
Thanks for your reply:)

Widowed
My mother told me she didn't give birth to a dark-haired child (we were bald babies). I had it dyed dark brown at that time. She said, "Your brothers don't like it either." She wanted to go on and on about it. I told her she was rude and hung up. Are you kidding? My brothers didn't have to like it, but I doubt if they even cared. I didn't call my mother for a while. I wasn't angry (I'm not easily angered). God must have really blessed me with the ability to quickly forgive.

Your family is dealing with their own fears ... and expectations.

At some point, you have to begin living your life the way Christ is leading you.

You certainly seem to be doing that ...
