  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I was married and my husband cheated on me with my sister. Unfortunately that played a part in our divorce. I don't have a relationship with my sisiter anymore but my ex and I have a 10yr old daughter together. We have been divorced for some time now. I recently found out that they are in a relationship and plan to be married. I am devestated. I don't allow my daughter to be around my sister because I feel she is a bad influence on her. My ex has gone behind my back and taken her around my sister anyway and had my daughter lying to me. The worst art is that they approached my daughter with this behind my back also and had the nerve to ask her if she was okay with it. I would of never thought my sister would be capable of such an act of betrayal. It is against everything I know! Now I'm afraid because of the way that I feel that my daughter will not be able to be around her dad either. HELP:prayer:

First I want to affirm that that is a shocking betrayal. And to have to drag the child into it and harm her conscience is the proof of the pudding that it's not right. I have been through family betrayal, and the worst part of it was not getting affirmation from other family members. They preferred to cover it up in order to maintain the status quo. So you have my affirmation. While it's essential to forgive, a prerequisite to real forgiveness is to acknowledge the reality of the offense.

I pray for comfort and wisdom for you, and protection for both you and your daughter. May the Lord quicken to you the right way to approach and deal with this situation and everyone involved in it.

It is not an enemy who taunts me—I could bear that. It is not my foes who so arrogantly insult me—I could have hidden from them. Instead, it is you—my equal, my companion and close friend. What good fellowship we once enjoyed as we walked together to the house of God. . . . [now] evil makes its home within them." Psalm 55:12-15 (NLT)

Father God, please precious Father be with my sister now in her time of great need and distress. Please step in and do whatever is necessary to protect this precious child from this terrible situation. Give my sister strength, wisdom, discernment, courage, and Lord, give her a great many people to stand with her ... be her Protector and her Friend. Be her ever-present Help in Jesus' name. Amen.
