• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I have been depressed for as long as I can remember now...
I have so many health problems...3 heart issues, Fibromyalgia...
and my depression just gets worse and worse even though I am on medication...
The only real reason why I get up in the mornings, is because of my son...
any encouraging words are appreciated...

Hi edreams.
Depression is not from God, seek the Lord with all your heart and He will reveal himself to you. Living and waking up in the mornings for your son is OK for now but i wanna see the day when you will wake up feeling loved, accepted, happy and feeling trully like a real daughter of the King of King and Lord or Lords.

If necessary wake up 30 minutes before your normal time, pray and read the Bible, it will give you the strenght and confidence you need to face a new and challenging day.

I have been there and know how it feels. You are not alone and remember that you are dearly loved by your maker & Father.

edreams,

Please don't think you are the only believer dealing with fibromyalgia. I was diagnosed with chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia about 9 years ago. Terrible disease. People without it cannot comprehend the physical and emotional pain we go through. I realize very few men get it but I am one of the few. I have been saved for 14 years and could not understand why the Lord would have me go through this trial. But through it all I have been strengthened and have been able to comfort others because of the experience. By God's grace and some medication I am able to deal with everyday as a new day. Taking one step at a time till Jesus comes. I know it sounds strange, but that is how I have been able to deal with the disease and associated depression. Every morning I thank the Lord for another day and pray that he will send me someone the Holy Spirit has prepared who need to know Christ. I get through my days with prayer. At night I thank the Lord for yet another day of serving Him and pray that if he does not come for me during the night that he would strengthen me for tomorrow. Try keeping a journal, tell the Lord how you feel. It is incredible to be able to look back a read about the blessings he has given you.

This verse of scripture has been very important to me: 2 Cor 12:9 -And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

If Jesus' strength is made perfect in my weakness, then I must be magnificent I am so weak. LOL

Also when I have felt bad and put upon I have read Psalm 73. The psalmist was feeling so sorry for himself after looking around and watching the wicked prosper, he was close to sinning. Then in verse 17 he says "until I went into the sanctuary of God" He then saw things from God's perspective, divine viewpoint. He saw the sin, the failings, how they would be consumed with terrors. Then he saw how God holds us by the right hand. I thought this was great because (now pay attention here). If God is holding us by our right hand, that means we are walking on his left side. Who is on His right side? Jesus Christ, amen. The Bible says He is at the right hand of the Father. I just love God's word, always full of such wonderful little goodies.

I am praying for you.
:prayer:

PM me if you want to email privately.

God Bless and keep you.
