Psalm 102:1-7. is a good description of how it feels to be low..This Psalm is definitely a prayer which we can utter to the Lord. I counseled someone today to use it.

Hear my prayer, O Lord;
let my cry for help come to you.
Do not hide your face from me
when I am in distress.
Turn your ear to me;
when I call answer me quickly.

For my days vanish like smoke;
my bones burn like glowing embers.
My heart is blighted and withered like grass,
I forget to eat my food.

Because of my loud groaning
I am reduced to skin and bones.
I am like a desert owl,
like an owl among the ruins.

I lie awake; I have become
like a bird alone on a roof. :o

Notice the images in this Psalm...smoke...for the days that vanish...skin and bones ...I wonder if that is where we get the expression that someone thin is 'skin and bones'...desert owl...that one really caught my attention since I live in the desert and am a dedicated birder. Desert owls as well as other owls are solitary creatures who come out at night. And finally the image of the bird alone on the roof...again showing a kind of emotional or physical isolation.

The Psalms help us tell God how we feel and represent a large range of emotions.. It is good to pray using the Psalms to guide us. God hears.
