Ahhh. 'Blessed assurance' is what this verse is saying to me - In Him, we have the assurance of safe passage no matter what life may throw at us. We are more than conquerors ... Blessed is His name! ​

We know that there are many places in the New Testament where the Kingdom of God is mentioned. Of them all I would chose this scripture as my favorite.

People were bringing little children to Jesus to have him touch them, but the disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it." [Mark 10:13-15 (NIV)]

And...this passage from St. Matthew's Gospel where Jesus is giving the Sermon on the Mount comes to mind.

"Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God." (Matt. 5:8)

I think in both passages the message is to retain or obtain childlike (but not childish) innocence: that is--simplicity, humility, and purity of heart... to become persons (no matter what our age, education, or experience) who are perpetually in wonder and amazement about the King and the Kingdom...a Kingdom which is "....not of this world." (John 18:36).

This is one prayer I know the Lord will answer. As long as I seek to grow in Him, He will lead me and encourage me every step of the way.
