'For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord' (Romans 6:23)...God's Word does not return to Him void. (Isaiah 55:10-11).
This is not a popular topic, but it's beneficial to have knowledge. I will warn you of something that many Pastor's will never do a sermon on...your sin will find you out.
Just because someone believes in Jesus does not mean they are immune from the consequences of unrepentant sin. I'm here to tell you, unrepentant sin (where the self-professing Christian doesn't care if they sin or not, they were never really transformed) will always find a person out. It's best for self-professing Christians to step into progressive sanctification...it leads to life. Until then, they will continue to reap the consequences of living in rebellion to the Word.
When people misinterpret Romans 6:11, Romans 8:1, Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 10:9-10, and 2 Corinthians 5:21...in a carnal mindset, they think it's a free ticket to do whatever they want....unfortunately their decisions to continually live however they want...it will catch up to them, so they can't complain to God when things don't go well for them or why God didn't answer their prayers when they ignored and rejected God's Word.
'If anyone returns evil for good, evil will not depart from his house' Proverbs 17:13
'Remember, the sins of some people are obvious, leading them to certain judgment. But there are others whose sins will not be revealed until later' 1 Timothy 5:24
'But each one is tempted when he is dragged away, enticed and baited [to commit sin] by his own [worldly] desire (lust, passion). Then when the illicit desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and when sin has run its course, it gives birth to death' James 1:14-15
'So then, I have seen the wicked buried, those who used to go in and out of the holy place [but did not thereby escape their doom], and they are [praised in spite of their evil and] soon forgotten in the city where they did such things. This too is futility (vanity, emptiness).
Because the sentence against an evil act is not executed quickly, the hearts of the sons of men are fully set to do evil. Though a sinner does evil a hundred times and his life [seemingly] is prolonged [in spite of his wickedness], still I know that it will be well with those who [reverently] fear God, who fear and worship Him openly [realizing His omnipresence and His power]. But it will not be well for the evil man, nor will he lengthen his days like a shadow, because he does not fear God' Ecclesiastes 8:10-13
'and if He rescued righteous Lot, who was tormented by the immoral conduct of unprincipled and ungodly men (for that just man, while living among them, felt his righteous soul tormented day after day by what he saw and heard of their lawless acts), then [in light of the fact that all this is true, be sure that] the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trial, and how to keep the unrighteous under punishment until the day of judgment, and ESPECIALLY those who indulge in the corrupt passions of the sin nature, and despise authority.
Presumptuous and reckless, self-willed and arrogant [creatures, despising the majesty of the Lord], they do not tremble when they revile angelic majesties, whereas even angels who are superior in might and power do not bring a reviling (defaming) accusation against them before the Lord. But these [false teachers], like unreasoning animals, [mere] creatures of instinct, born to be captured and destroyed, reviling things they do not understand, will also perish in their own corruption [in their destroying they will be destroyed], suffering wrong [destined for punishment] as the wages of doing wrong' 2 Peter 2:7-13 (AMP)
'Do not be deceived, God is not mocked [He will not allow Himself to be ridiculed, nor treated with contempt nor allow His precepts to be scornfully set aside]; for whatever a man sows, this and this only is what he will reap.
For the one who sows to his flesh [his sinful capacity, his worldliness, his disgraceful impulses] will reap from the flesh ruin and destruction, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. Let us not grow weary or become discouraged in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap, if we do not give in' Galatians 6:7-9 (AMP).
