"Yeah that's going to be a problem. It's gonna be a problem for them. This a clear violation of your rights as a consumer. It's an infringement on your constitutional rights. It's outrageous, egregious, preposterous....That's deplorable, unfathomable, improbable."

Are you typing all of these from memory?

Also... as much as I like Kramer, I can probably only take about two more days of seeing that animation in your sig. lol

Then I'll put two of him up! ^_^:p

I remember most of what they said but I check it online and cut and paste what I forgot. My wife and I just love the show. Seinfeld and King of Queens, IMHO, are the funniest shows of the last 30 years.

Sorry, I meant just using ther word 'hockey'. For you that denotes one form and you would differentiate from the other by saying "Field Hockey" whereas for us it's the other way around.

It's exactly like the word 'football'. To an Englishman this means what we call 'soccer'. That's not to say you've not heard of soccer. But in his everyday use 'football' means something different to him than what it does to me.

I understand what you mean. No worries. :) Btw, for me football is both. When I hear football I usually ask the person to clarify. :) Neat how even though we all speak english we still 'speakka diffrent langwage'. ...:D

I love king of Queens. One line I love and that so well exemplifies the show's humor is:

Carrie: “Hey whatcha doin babe?”
Doug: “Nothin, just putting two packets of icing on one Toaster Strudel…Happy Now, Sad Later”

My wife and I laughed at that one so much because it's so Doug and also because... who hasn't been there? lol

For me football means Rugby League, although I played another type of football at school - Rugby Union

Somewhere back before the thread was hijacked and the conversation became immersed in debating and referencing pop culture there was a post about diet soda and artificial sweeteners that I saw yesterday. I don't remember who made it and I am not sifting through the OT pop culture references any longer to find it, sorry. Whoever made that post, you might be interested in this study: Diet soda increases GLP-1 secretion in Type 1, but not Type 2, diabetes.

That was hilarious. I remember that one!

I like this one:

Arthur to Doug: You know, we're quite a team. Like Jake and the Fatman. Needless to say, I'm Jake.

Or this one that just CRACKED me up!

Arthur: You gotta hand it to those Japanese, though, clever people. Still a mystery to me how we ever got them to surrender in the Second World War.

Carrie: Well, we did annihilate two of their cities

Arthur: True enough. Mystery solved

Back on topic, I love my new university building - we have a huge new 3 level student centre in the middle of campus (and we're a well regarded university but not residential) which is Eco friendly and has three food outlets, one of which has a $10 special (that would be about $5 for a US equivalent) for a giant bowl with one savory (all health food - today I picked tuna patties which are made with potato, dijon mustard and dill - and tuna is both local and sustainable here, we're one of the world's largest exporters of farmed tuna) and the rest filled up with salad from these huge bowls of different types, today I picked a Chinese cabbage and crunchy noodle one and a chickpea, wild rice and pumpkin one. Yummmmm and healthy!

farmed fish isn't exactly healthy. If you look at the majority of farmed fish, it even has carbon monoxide in it! Yes, it sounds totally insane, but my wife and I noticed it at the grocery store! We saw it said in small writing on the back of the label for farmed salmon "carbon monoxide added as preservative" and then it said it on the farmed tuna and the farmed tilapia! LOL....it's like eating fish and sucking a tail pipe!

wild ocean-caught fish is better than farmed

I never buy it ... I know that Norwegian wild salmon is the best...but also very expensive too. But on special occasions I buy some :)

Between buying organic and vegetarian food and paying for our three kids to go to private school all on a sixth grade teacher's salary, you can see why we put the "b" in broke! ^_^:o

Yep we have been the "b" word for years now hehe... I try to buy mostly organic but not always I am more than 70 percent organic. Sometimes I wonder if it makes that much of difference... For if it not fresh it is loosing again its nutritional value :(

Well we work to make sure we try our best for our family right?

Nice, lucky you. :) I love going to the Farmer's Market here. Brilliant! :)

Yes, buying healthy food is expensive but I budget for it. Since I have health problems and one of the only things that helps, I invest. :)

In my opinion, eating vegetarian and organic is very expensive. An oncologist and the chemotherapy is a lot more expensive! I'd rather avert that or make sure I've done my part to avoid it altogether!
