Freezia fled up the stone-flagged stairs of Olae-phas, disregarding the protests of the guards ordered for the specific purpose of keeping her out. Her pale eyes flashed, and she held her hand out in front of her. The guards found themselves helpless, encased in ice up to their chins.

Ignoring them, she scaled the steps quicker than she ever had before, heading for the pinnacle, where the Light Seal had once rested, long before. Darkness engulfed her, but that was her mission . . . to bring light.

She entered the forge-room, and groped for the tongs to extract the reforged Light Seal from the flames. Having found them, she dropped the seal in a pan of water, and waited for it to finish hissing. The smell of singed hair and skin didn't deter her as she picked the still-hot Light Seal, and headed up the tiny stair that led to the small ledge on the pinnacle. The priest ran at her, but she ignored him and kept going, disregarding and enduring the agony of her bloodied and burnt palms.

But as she was just about to set the Light Seal on the very peak of Olae-phas to extinguish the darkness of the city, the priest caught her arm and wrenched the seal from her, with surprising strength in his thin, wirey arms. Caught off-balance, Zia's crimsoned hands shot out to steady herself, but she slipped and never regained her feet. Blood spattered the priest's white robe as she fell, but he lent her no aid as she hung perilously from the ledge, only holding on by one hand. Shutting her eyes, Zia let a whispered prayer escape her lips before her fingers lost their grip and she plummeted into the thick fog, not uttering a cry as she fell.

mmmmm wat should i post......
------------

Aridol led the armies of Eyre and the alliance to Waterfall City's aid.
It looked like both sides were fighting with the same strength.
Suddnely, a horn sounded, signalling the completion of the forging.
Thousands upon thousands of soilders cheered, creating a thunderous noise.
Aridol's battle horns sounded in response, informing the defenders that help and reinforcement was finally at hand.

However, happiness was short lived..... as suddenly, earthquakes shook the ground with tremendous force, shaking some calvaries down.

Clover skidded to a halt inside Olae-phas' many corridors, Caldir crashing into her. He rubbed his arm looking around curiously, "Now tell me, how'd we get here again?"

Clover looked around, straining her eyes to see through the darkness, "I don't know. I can't remember. Only thing I remember is a bunch of fighting. Don't they have any lights in this place?!"

Caldir shifted his sword uncertainly as he felt the ground shake under his feet, "You could use the crystal. It does more than just blast people to smithereens."

"It doesn't 'blast people to smithereens'. They're still whole afterwards. I don't know what it does but I can't use it now. It's too dangerous." She looked at him, "What about you? I think we're lost."

Caldir frowned at her, "Me? What can I do? There aren't any birds, beasts, or even insects anywhere around here. How about you? There has to be someone nearby."

"Too far... besides, we're not supposed to be here and my doing anything would give away our presence."

Suddenly, they heard a crash of someone falling and then running footsteps. If either of them could make a guess they could guess that it didn't sound like someone heavy armor.

"What do you suppose-"

Clover's dark blue eyes shone triumphantly and she cut him off, "Follow me!"

She clutched her spear more tightly and took off at a run followed closely by Caldir. It wasn't far before they came to a dead end. At first Clover stared at it in shock then she gave it a good kick muttering darkly under her breath and frowned at the wall.

"Maybe we should split up and see if there's an entrance to the other side somewhere along here."

She had pressed her ear along the wall listening intently to what might be on the other side. She spoke in a whisper though, "Split up? Remember the last time we split up? The outcome had not been good. Splitting up in this place could spell possible death for one or the both of us. Besides, I might need you."

She stepped back from the wall surveying it quietly. They heard more shouting and the sound of running. Caldir stood next to her studying the wall as well and they spoke in soft voices, "It sounds so close."

"It does. It sounds like we're in the same place... but we're seperated."

"It's like it's a fake wall... an illusion."

"It's not an illusion because I can touch it, but a fake...? hmmm... you don't see a door do you?"

Caldir shook his head, "No, maybe it's a trick..."

"Pick me up."

"What?"

"Pick me up. I want to see if maybe half the wall is real and the other half an illusion."

Caldir arched an eyebrow but did as she asked him to, letting her stand on his shoulders. She felt along the wall and uttered a small sound of surprise and then disappeared. Caldir stepped back from the wall calling as loudly as he dared, "Clover? Are you there? Are you all right?"

Clover's head popped out of the seemingly solid wall, "I'm fine. It's like a little ledge up here. Will you pass me up my spear?"

He handed up her spear, "You're not going anywhere without me, are you?"

"No, of course not. Thanks. Now I'll help you up."

After some tugging and pulling Clover had managed to pull Caldir up on the edge next to her. They peered out into a hallway that led to a long flight of stairs. A guard lay motionless at the foot of the stairs and other guards stood frozen in a block of ice nearby, glaring furiously up the stairs after someone. Clover nudged Caldir smiling slightly, "Looks like Freezia's passed this way. What do you think? Shall we follow?"

"Follow? Looks to me like they were waiting for her."

Clover dropped from the ledge holding her spear ready incase there were any guards still able to fight, "All the better reason to follow. She had to have come this way for a reason. I doubt they would waste guarding something that's not there."

"Clover, that's not a good idea."

"So, are you coming with me or are you not?"

Caldir dropped to the ground and followed after her as she approached one of the frozen guards smiling broadly. Caldir didn't think it looked like a very kind smile.

"Hello! Nice to see you, good sir. What happens to be up theses stairs?"

The guard scowled at her cursing up a storm. Caldir glared threateningly at him as he followed Clover up the stairs ignoring the guard completely. She was actually running up the stairs and he suddenly felt like there was something wrong. Clover stopped in the door to a forge room and Caldir looked over her shoulder. The room was filled with steam and a priest stood holding a bloodied something and laughing maliciously. On closer inspection he was splattered with blood and the floor had blood smeared on it. The priest turned and looked at them and laughing like a mad man held up the thing in his hand, "Looking for this?"

Clover recognized what looked like a seal. She felt her heart skip a beat and she swallowed muttering, "This is bad..."

The dark shroud continued to blanket the world. The war cries and the sound of marching footsteps continued to get louder, but they still seemed to not feel closer. As if they were just sounds, not physically arriving. But, something was arriving. The priest back at the Hyrule Valley could feel it. Mt. Hyrule was no longer visual and the Hyrule's had no way to see how much worse the mountain had gotten. The Hyrule Valley barely lliminated its own grounds, but hope still thrived in all their hearts.

The King was sitting in his throwne room when suddenly, a high and long horn sounded outside the city gates of the valley. The king immediatly recognized the horn and ran down to the castle gate. The king mounted his horse and rode hard towards the city gates.

Oden flew up into the air and scanned the darkness, listening to the sounds coming from the deep cravasses. He lifted his brass flute up to his lips and played a soft comferting melody. The song drifted through the streets of Waterfall City. Giving solitude and comfort to the soldiers who now rested behind the city walls. The enemy had retreated a couple miles away from the city to see what was left of their forces. Oden continued to play...

When the king arrived at the city gates, he couldn't believe what he was seeing. Thousands and thousands of Hyule's coming from the south!

They must be from Hills of Ether, thought the king as he unmounted his horse.

The lead Hyrule approached the king and bowed. "We come in service of the King of Hyrule. Dear Emerick, it is good to see you again."

"My dear Paige, it is good to see you as well. You are always welcome in the Hyrule Valley." replied Emerick.

The two nodded and continued into the city of Hyrule.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ok, so the Hyrule from Ether are at the valley to aid king Emerick if needed. I submitted Piage in if you didn't notice. ;)
uh..... howcome the priest's become mad all of a sudden? um.. i'll keep my hands out of that. :)
----
That three days was like none others he could remember. The earth groaned and shifted beneath Waterfall City, like that of a wild sea building into a rage. Yet even during the earthquake, the enemy did not quit. Taren had taken so many wounds that he could hardly move, let alone think about the earth seal. Lying in one of the rooms where the injured were looked after, his breathing regular and shallow, Taren slept, unconsicous of the darkness outside that was striking great fear into the hearts of Waterfall City's defenders.
----
Wiping sweat from her forehead, Clise then drank from the water bottle past to her by Liah. Several dragons who had survived the battle rested in a small clearing away from Waterfall City. Clise looked up to the sound of the distant fighting. This darkness... she could feel that it was nothing natural. A darkness that could even blot out the sun. Her hand tightened around the water bottle she was holding, while fear, anxiety and frustration battled inside her. They couldn't afford to lose this battle, if they did then the all they were figting for was for naught, and what will soon come will start the real nightmare that everyone was dreading.
And more tragedies will come....
The image of Klaze's dying moment surfaced from the turmoil of thoughts. Clise squeezed her eyes shut as a single tear escaped from her eye.
"Clise?" Liah said.
Clise's eyes snapped open and she threw Liah the water bottle. "I'm going to take a look at this madness," she said and climbed up Kyne's back swiftly. The dragon had taken several small cuts but her thick dragon scales were strong. This small rest should be enough to last for a few more hours or so.
Ever since the Hyule's of the Ether Hills came, the Hyrule's felt more comfort then before, but still felt evil surrounding them. There had been rumors that creatures of unknown origin were coming through the cravasses from below. King Emerick had ordered all woman and children to the sacrid grounds which were in the ancient forests. Emerick and Piage were talking with the General and the Priest when the very same horn that had sounded Piage's arrival sounded at the city gates. Both Emerick and Paige mounted their horses and rode towards the gate.
Oden played for a long time, comforting both the soldiers and himself. Oden decided to take a break and flew down to the main tower. As Oden approached the tower, he saw the priest holding one of the seven seals facing two humans at the door.
I'd better check this out, thought Oden hovering towards the tower. When Oden landed, he saw blood over the side of the balcony. Oden looked back up at the priest and back down at the balcony. Oden followed the blood smears down to the bottom of the tower where Freezia lay motionless. Oden landed beside her and felt her pulse. It was faint! Oden layed his hand on Freezia chest, it didn't rise nor fall. Oden stepped back and faced his palm towards Freezia. Light began to slowly exit his palm and floated towards Freezia. The light entered her body illuminating her eyes, nose, and mouth. Her body began to float from where it lay. Freezia's eyes flickered open to see Oden standing over her.
"Oden, w-what happened?" asked Freezia rubbing her eyes.
"You fell. I suggest you watch your step next time." replied Oden grinning.
Freezia's face changed as she looked above her. She now remembered what had happened. Without word, Freezia flew into the air towards the balcony leaving Oden behind.
Back at the valley, Emerick looked again in disbelief as more Hyrule approached the city walls.
"Norland Hyrule's." muttered Emerick.
A single Hyule approached the king.
"I present to you, Queen Morwen. Ruler of the Hyrule of the Norland Falls. We come in your aid." said the hyrule.
Emerick nodded as the queen walked towards him.
"Morwen, it's been a long time." said Emerick smiling.
"To long." replied Morwen. "Family shouldn't be apart."
"Dear sister, I really appritiate this." said Emerick leading Morwen into the city. The people of Hyrule were reunited. Now, they would determine what is to be done about this new evil that was about to reveal itself for the first time in ages. The Shadowkin were close.
Thanks Kook, I was gonna say something, but you took the words out of my mouth. The Shadowkin will be arriving very soon. Grimr, it's not that I'm trying to take over your role of playing the bad guys, it's just that I have to control these evil guys in order for a few plans to work. I hope you understand.
Oh, and Freezia can't fly, unless it's on her eagle.
~~~~~

Freezia gave a dark glance towards the peak of Olae-phas, then summoned Rahlzi with a shrill whistle. "I will return!" she said to no one, then shot towards the outer walls. So far, her dark elves had served her well and all five of the iron bridges were destroyed, and most of the seige ladders and towers. The white-flagged outer walls were still firm against any attack of the enemy, and slanted outwards, without grip. Certain sections of the walls were covered with stout wooden slats, between which men could fire down on the enemy without being detected.

Freezia circled between the outer and second walls, over a flat space with few houses.

Vialla stood on the outer wall just above the gate, a calvalry of archers ranged along the walls, trying to stem the flow of goblins, orcs and all dark creatures. Already she had sent half of the frontal forces to the second wall, around half a mile back from the first, and even heavier fortified. As Freezia watched, a huge section of the wall blossomed outwards with fire and chunks of masonry fly outwards.

To her horrer, Freezia saw that the portion of wall that Vialla had stood on was tilted steeply, her friend clinging perilously near the top while a swarm of goblins scaled the slab, disarming her and then binding her, throwing her back to others of their kind. Freezia wondered that they did not kill her, but it dawned on her that the Dark Lord planned to capture the sealbearers as they had been chosen by the Powers to carry them unto death. If he could turn them, then the seals would be the easier to corrupt and indeed, he would have seven powerful allies, like to wraiths. (hehe, maybe a little too carried away).

The sword gleamed dully in her hand, leaping into blue flame. Rahlzi jerked below her, and cried in agony as a well-placed arrow took him through his wing. Another pierced his other wing, near to the shoulder. He had no choice but to land, in the open space now teeming with orcs. As she looked below, Freezia saw several with nets and ropes.

So they had been waiting for her. So be it! Her war cry tore itself from her constricted throat, and she leapt from Rahlzi as he hit the ground hard, the sword of Niall whirling like a scythe. Hundreds of dark men pressed in on her, arrows levelled at her body, but they did not fire as she continued to fight the orcs that held the nets as they sought to tangle either Freezia or Rahlzi. The great bird was overcome, then killed with methods even Freezia blocked from her mind afterwards. Then the heavy folds of a net wrapped around her and jerked her backwards, slamming her to the cold earth. A stroke with Bluebane freed her, but something heavy struck the back of her head, and she stumbled. The dark men leapt at her, overwhelming her. Bluebane was dashed from her hand and taken by a man, though he held it carefully and not without distrust. Her bow and quiver were torn from her hands and then she was bound cruelly, to be taken before the leader of the Shadowkin . . . of whom she knew nothing. One by one, the sealbearers were falling.

As the darkness relentlessly covered the lands, it began to slowly eat away at the men. Morale wasn't so good and many soldiers have been injured do to the fact of no sight. For a while, it had seemed that the earthquakes had gotten less harsh but one day, an earthquake shook the lands with such great power, that it was as if God himself walked the earth. Many towers fell. Many men, women, and children were killed and injured. Though the fighting seemed to be over at the time, the battle still went on. Earthquakes, darkness, and the priest had seemed to of gone mad, while the enemy rested and planned their next attacks. Rumors among the soldiers spread. Saying Satan's rath never rests. He will never give up until everything is destroyed. Rumors of Satan's ultimate dark army also spread quickly throughout the city. Yet Oden paid no heed to it, he still was concerned of the evil force that approached the surfice. He could feel them. Their rage, their hatred, their "need" to kill what their master wished. The only thought that agsistes[sp] in their minds is to please their master, which was the evil one, Lucifer. The Shadowkin were the perfect soldiers. They can't see, so they can never see beauty. They can't feel, physically and mentally, so they can't feel pain or sadness and compation. They can't taste, so they can't taste anything bitter or sweet. They can't hear, so they can't convert from darkness and evil. The Shadowkin are ancient warriors. Nobody knows of their origin, for those who know are dead. The last line of the forces of Hell that once aided Lucifer in despret times has now been summoned once again.

Back at the Hyrule Valley, the three leaders of the Hyrule met in the King's secret chambers. The King sat among Paige of the Ether Hill Hyrule and Queen Morwen, ruler of the Norland Falls Hyrule.

"I fear that my decission of hiding has greatly affected the fate of Christianity If only I had led my armies into battle, the battle at Waterfall City would be over." said Emerick rubbing his forehead.

"God has already forgiven you." said Paige placing her hand on Emerick's shoulder.

"That lies in the past, my brother. We must think of the present. We must make a decission on what to do with this new evil." said Morwen.

The two nodded. Emerick grabbed and map and unrolled it. "Ok, here's the plan." said Emerick setting the map on the table.

At Waterfall City, it had been quiet. Too quiet for Oden. Something was about to happen. He could sence them. The Shadowkin...they had come! The war cries and the sounds of marching was gone. Only a deafening silence filled the air. But they were out there, he could hear them breathing. Oden clenched his fist forming a ball of lightning. When the size was right, Oden threw it as hard as he could into the darkness. As the lightning ball flew, it pierced the darkness revealing millions upon millions of Shadowkin standing in formation. Once the light flew over them, they began their slow walk towards the city! Waterfall Cities horn sounded announcing an attack on the city. Fear and excitment lept in the soldiers hearts as they quickly strogeled[sp] to gather their equipment! Oden focused his eye-sight towards the Shadowkin.

"Looks like they have the remaining orcs, goblins, and trolls in front with the Shadowkin following." said Oden.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ok, now you guys, back to fighting. Now remember, these beings feel no pain so they'll be really hard to kill.
Okay, this is Olae-phas, only without the huge gigantic waterfall behind it. Think Niagra falls, three times as wide and three times as tall. This also does not include Lake Indigo, the outer and inner rings of walls, or the dyke. Only the tower is what I meant to show you. :D
wow.... i love that pic, kookaburra! :)
ok, going with Doctor's idea, the seal bearers will find out during the battle that they can access a fraction of the power of the seals, even though they do not have the seals in their hands (only the seal each has been given), so i suppose when the Shadowkin comes into play, that would be the timing for the seal to be used.
----
Clise couldn't quite tell what was happening as the light given out by the few torches in the city was not enough to illuminate the entire area. She shuddered at the thought of fighting in the dark, it would be hard to distinguish between ally and foe, and the danger involved would be increased a hundred fold. The sound of battle pierced through the darkness. Being airbourne, the noise was way sharper to Clise's ears.
Amidst the intense darkness, a sharp blue light flared up just outside the walls of Waterfall City. Immediately, Clise recognised the huge body of Rahlzi the eagle. The blue light lasted for a few minutes or so before it died down in a flash. Clise let Kyne hover for a moment.
What can i do... what can i do?
The thought ran through her mind again and again. The horrible fact was, there was nothing she could do. She could surely cast a few spells, but that may harm the enemies along with Freezia. While she was desperately trying to find a solution, a fireball went hurtling out from the city. Watching in anticipation, Clise's mouth opened in amazement when the light revealed rows up rows of creatures, matching towards the city. One glimpse was enough to give Clise the chill. The Shadowkin had come.
It had been several minutes since Oden's flare illuminated the arrival of the Shadowkin. The men pannicked, some falling down countless flites of stairs in their despret attempt to gather their equipment. All of a sudden, a beam of moonlight pierced the thick grey-black clouds that had hung over the earth, slowly but surely began to disappear!
Soon after all of the clouds disappeared, the entire amount of the Shadowkin was revealed! They were at least twenty miles from the city. By the billions they walked. Due to the distance they were at, the armies of Christianity were able to reorganize and display a strong formed front against the Shadowkin. Both sides starred eachother in the eyes, as the Shadowkin slowly walked towards the allied forces. The night sky glowed on the battle field as the sounds of commands from the allies and the marching of the Shadowkin became louder. It was as if they were standing in front of the allies but they weren't(to symbolize that there are a lot of them). The King of Eyre and many of the other leaders stood in front of the masses of their armies. The king turned around and began speaking.
"My fellow Christians. This is it. The winner of this very battle will decide the fate of this world. Join me, and we WILL win. In the name of God, fight! Fight for what is right and just! We are no longer individual armies. We are now one. Let us now be called the armies of God." yelled the King of Eyre.
The men began cheering loudly as the archers began to advance to the frontline. The numberous dragons and eagles filled the skies as the their riders mounted and waited for a signal! Firery arrows lit the sky as the archers armed their bows. The leader extended their arms into the air in wait. Finally, after a long period of time, the horn of Waterfall City sounded. Each and every archer released their arrows creating a rain of fire upon the leading orcs, goblins, and trolls. Almost in a half an hour, the remaining orcs, goblins, and trolls were all completly taken out. Now all that was left were the billions of Shadowkin. As the arrows began to reach the Shadowkin, they quickly lifted up large oval shields, shielding themselves from the arrows! Another horn sounded from within the city. The archers stepped back and stood down from firing as the dragon's and eagles dived towards the Shadowkin pounding them with fire and tallons! The infantry and the calvary looked in disbelief as the fire burnt the Shadowkin. But they kept walking as if ignoring the pain! The third horn sounded, signaling the infantry and the calvary to charge forward slowly like the Shadowkin.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Let's let the armies battle a bit before the seals are put to play. It wouldn't be fun if the Shadowkin were just wipped out in an instent.

A deadly quiet swept over the grey ranks as they halted their innumerable legions on a common signal.

The Wild Men that had been guarding Vialla and Freezia dragged them to their feet, trembling themselves as they led the resisting captives towards one of the black-hooded creatures, standing a little forward from the rest, who were garbed in grey. Even the Dark Lord must have an errend-runner to give his commands on earth.

Black-cloak turned towards the men and stepped closer. The 'guards' drew back in haste, then fled over the flat, away from the endless dark. No shadowkin moved, but when the blindfold was torn from her eyes, Freezia quickly saw that they were armed only with cold steel. Not a feathered arrow was to be seen among them, but fear went before them and bit deeper than steel. They were clad in close-fitting coslets and kilts of rings, seeming like steel but black as jet. Long, charcoal cloaks swathed them, and not a shadow of a face could Freezia see under their hoods. Indeed, they hated and feared light. They were eternally cloaked in darkness by the Dark Lord.

The Black-cloak now stood over Freezia, and there was a faint ring of steel as the Shadowkin drew his sword from its sheath. From all around her, the sound was duplicated, and every jagged sword in the army was turned towards her. Long pikes with glittering ends pointed like reaching fingers towards the walled city, a veritable thicket of spears pointed skywards.

'What do you say to this, seal-carrier?' the creature did not speak, but Freezia understood it as clearly as if it was spoken. Even as Black-cloak pricked her chin with the long, cold blade, she sensed that it was not him speaking to her, but something else, something darker and more terrible, speaking through him. A harsh sound came from the massed Shadowkin, and she realized they were laughing. At her. Their voices were deep, and harsh, and grated on the ear, like the cawing of crows. Then the ranks moved steadily forward, with the two captives pushed ahead of the front ranks, gleaming white against black.

Waterfall City's calvary were outside of the gates, moving forward. Even as she looked, Freezia shut her eyes. It was hopeless. Or was it? The jewl ever-present bound to her forehead blazed out, a white star. The Black-cloak leapt black, and dealt her a stinging blow to the face his coiled whip. Freezia recoiled, thrown to the ground as the pike-tips once more pointed directly at her body. She could feel the welt and the blood trickling down, but she didn't heed it.

'Curse the eagle-folk forever!' Hissed a sharp voice from under the hood, where a mouth may have once been. For one brief instant, Zia's gem cast light on a bare hand, and then it jerked into ever-present shadow, as if burned. 'She had a filthy stone, the sealbearer!' Vialla stumbled and hit the ground, but the Shadowkin did not halt. They speared her then trampled her, not even moving aside. Freezia caught a flicker from Bluebane in a metal-cloaked hand, and closed her eyes.

"Did your lips burn with the lies they told, were your hands stained with the blood they spilled?"  Ancient Hyrule saying

"I go out for a breath of fresh air and you let a shape changer in here...did you not listen to me?" mummbled the priest, the guards backed off not sure how to respond.  "Did you ask to see this scar?" continued the priest throwing his arm up to show the burnt skin beneath.  The forger looked down at the decapitated corpse on the floor dressed in a priest robe, now stained with blood.  The thing that had been the priest was now black and mishapen.  He pulled from its graps the light seal and turned it over.  It was undamaged.  "Thank God he did not get this and that Freezia survived or it would have been your head"  We need to move the seals.  Its too dangerous here."  He turned to the forger "Are the others ready?"

"near enough"

"Good, captain, get me what ever men you can find, we need to move the seals under heavy guard!"
