The 7 seals of the scroll are symbolic portents [previews] of the coming events of the tribulation period which cannot begin until the Lord removes all of the seals from the scroll just before [Revelation 5:1-7] .... then His judgment of the earth will begin [Revelation 8:6]

The 6 seal reflects human behavior towards the Lord's judgment and this on leads up to Revelation 8:6 .... just after the short silence in heaven [the 7th seal]

When Jesus ascended as the slain Lamb, he alone was worthy to take the scroll and start to open the seals thereon. The first four seals were opened when Christ ascended and continue riding to this day.

Ezekiel 14: 21For thus saith the Lord GOD; How much more when I send my four sore judgments upon Jerusalem, the sword, and the famine, and the noisome beast, and the pestilence, to cut off from it man and beast?


We are told that the scroll is two sided. I believe the first four seals have ridden out together and continue to ride as the great tribulation continues and the last three seals are opened together as Christ returns when the wrath of God begins.

The last three seals are opened and occur when the Day of the Lord is beginning when the great tribulation is cut short just before the 6th seal.

Matt 24:29Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:


Rev 6 12And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;
13And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.
14And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.
15And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;
16And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: 17For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

Those verses in Matthew and Revelation prove that the great tribulation is not the same thing as the day of the lord or "great day of his wrath" just as Revelation 7 and 8 also prove it.

There is no time in heaven.

Jesus ascending as the slain Lamb and the sending out of the four judgments against Jerusalem, prophecied in Ezekiel 14 and Revelation 6, occurred almost 2000 years ago.

The seven churches are not future churches. They have been around since Christ established the church. Every Christian is catagorized into one of those seven churches.

So, no, Revelation not all future. That seven-sealed scroll was opened (first four seals) when Christ overcame through His shed blood on the cross. THAT is when He was worthy to take the scroll and begin to open those seals on that scroll that serve to bring down the dominion of the devil over this planet.

The point where future events are foretold is seal #5 onward.

Revelation 4 is a scene in heaven, where there is no time. I will pray about your thoughts on the matter, though.

The 5th seal shows a particular fact as to timing. It is martyrs crying out to be avenged. They are told justice will be done when more martyrs are yet to occur. The only people dying as martyrs after the 5th seal are those who die during the 7th seal, at the hands of the devil and his antichrist/false prophet.

This tells us that there are martyrs occuring during the first four seals who cry out to be avenged. At the 5th seal, they are given white robes and we next see them and the entire church standing in heaven prior to wrath and after tribulation.

Furthermore, Revelation 7 shows the church, wearing white robes that are given in the 5th seal, have come out of great tribulation. The church does not endure wrath but we all endure tribulation. This is why we're taught in Rev 6, the 6th seal, that the wrath of God is beginning. AND we are taught by Jesus in Matt 24:29 that the tribulation is cut short before the 6th seal when the wrath of God begins.

These tidbits teach us that the tribulation is the first four seals and the wrath is the last three seals because, according to Jesus, that is when the transition from tribulation to wrath takes place.

Every person in that great multitude has endured the great tribulation, according to Revelation 7. That's the entire church to that moment in time, aside from the martyrs who will late die at the hands of the devil/antichrist and are resurrected after Christ comes and binds the devil.

Revelation is a 3000 year story. The scroll itself is a 2000 year deal.

Matthew and Zechariah are companion pieces to Revelation. Both show that war, famine, plague are sent out a long time ago. Jesus said in Matt 24 that wars, famines, plagues are the beginning of sorrows. Ezek 14:21 says war, famine, plague were sent out to desolate Israel, particularly Jerusalem. That was prior to 70AD.
