In other words, if God and His Word was not true, you wouldn't bother to even come here.

...
If Creationists were not trying to get their doctrine taught in the public schools, we wouldn't even bother to come here.

Consider this: The Seventh Day Adventists don't eat meat. They think the Bible tells them not to. Nobody else cares. On the other hand, if they started agitating to have meat taken out of public school cafeterias, you can bet there would be on-line discussion forums where the subject was hotly debated.

No, it wasn't as serious as that, but the information about Cor Caroli and similar stars did add value to my life at a time when I needed it.

Please. Most atheists here do not talk at this forum out of some good intention. Also, if something is true or false, a person will figure that out for themselves regardless if a school teaches such a thing or not. Also, talking on a forum is not going to change people's minds in most cases. Rarely have I ever seen people change their beliefs on things they think are right. People believe in a false way because of their own sin. Even false religious people who do sinful things and justify such sin in the name of their religion are seeking their own sin. If a law is passed in schools to teach Creationism, it will be at a higher level that you cannot control. Talking on a forum is not going to change that (if such a thing were to happen). It would be nice that such a thing were to happen, but I don't think that is my main concern in life. My main concern in life is to conform to the image of Christ (i.e. to be in His likeness). God will reveal all truths to a new believer after they repent of their sins and they start to study God's Word. If they are pure of heart, they will not be led away by the thinking of this world and into thinking they can sin and still be saved.

Side Note:

Also, I thought you were an atheist by your reply, but I had to do a double look at who was speaking to see that you are a believer. This is truly disheartening. No believer should defend an atheist's unbelief. That is just wrong. I truly hope I am wrong in misreading your intentions, but it just does not make any sense as to why you appear to be defending an atheist's promotion of unbelief on a Christian forum.

Since you think I should help you out as one Christian to another, I will give you some advice: inventing and attributing motives to others is offensive. It is certainly not the way to win over atheists.

I am not defending their unbelief. I am standing up for my faith against the lies and deceits of creationists, witnessing to the fact that it is not necessary to be a "Bible-believer" in order to be a Christian. It is amusing to observe that the atheists are more accepting and tolerant of my beliefs than people like you.

How many atheists have you won over to Christ by your methods?

Uh, what the?!!

it is not necessary to be a "Bible-believer" in order to be a Christian?

That is just crazy talk. A person cannot be a Christian and reject God's Word. A person cannot have faith without God's Word. For faith comes by hearing and hearing the Word of God (Romans 10:17). How did you hear about Jesus? Do we not read about Jesus and the gospel from the Bible?

Atheists are tolerant of your beliefs because you reject God's Word the Bible (Just as they do). At least that is the impression I get by what you have said here (of which I hope I am wrong).

Some; how well have you done by slandering them?

No, it is not. Literal inerrancy, perspicuity, self-interpretability and plenary verbal inspiration are all recent inventions of 19th century Protestant novelty sects--not to mention Sola Scriptura, the slippery slope which leads to such aberrations...

How arrogant--and typical. You accuse me of rejecting God's word because I reject your interpretation of it.

Side Note:

As for your thinking that I am falsely accusing atheists by my saying, "Most atheists do not come to Christian forums out of some good intention." : Well, there is one real quick way to clear up whether or not I am right and you are wrong. Simply do a survey (that is not influenced by our conversation here) that asks atheists movitations as to why they talk on Christian forums.

Here is a question asked on another Christian forum:

"Why do atheists attack Christianity?"

One Christian has said,

"It's the ultimate danger to their belief system, so they feel attacked by it in a mentally unstable manner. Here I would be talking about those who attack Christianity. Some are so desperate that they will use any argument - regardless of how illogical or silly it is. Those who are comfortable and stable in their unbelief simply don't care unless some Christian gets too aggressive in witnessing. You will not find a comfortable and stable atheist on a Christian forum bashing Christians. In fact, you won't find them on a Christian forum at all." ~ Quote by NChrist.

Another Christian said,

"I have asked the question many times....why do atheists come to Christian sites, such as this one, and argue endlessly against the existence of God? After all, they don't believe in Him. No atheist has ever given me a logical answer. IMO, they are driven to do this even if they don't understand why. They are puppets of the enemy and, subconsciously KNOW that God exists. Many of them come here to 'debate' and when they realize they'll never get anywhere, they become nasty and hateful. Some pretend to be seekers or even Christians (as if everyone doesn't see through such deceptions!) and attempt to influence believers through a more benign form of attack (note the never ending threads on evolution and the idea that man is just another animal and the universe a random accident). This is a futile exercise as well. They simply must do this before their time runs out.

I doubt if anyone is going to jump on you for telling the truth, Autumn. Btw, the reason they don't attack other 'religions' is because their master isn't concerned about those, he knows they're irrelevant. They will tell you they attack all faiths; it's a lie. For the most part, ALL of their energies are directed at Christianity." Quote by ~ MorningGlory.

Patently false. Every interaction I have, begins with sincerity and good faith on my part. As it goes, however, as soon as one is confronted with evidence that challenges their worldview, they resort to quoting bible verses ('fool has said in their heart..., etc) as if it carries the same weight as honest interaction. As for atheists not changing anyone's mind, I think you might be surprised, as I've been around CF since '04, and I've seen several Christians change their faith icons as they can no longer suppress their cognitive dissonance, and I don't recall anyone changing from A to C.

If you want to address why a certain group does things, it might be a better idea to actually ask the group that is doing the attacking instead of asking the attacked group why they think it is happening. This is nothing other than people ascribing motives based on their impressions.

So you are going to serve him who said, "I am the way, the truth and the life," by spouting untruths.

Somebody has got to say, in the full view of atheists and everybody else, that Christianity is not that vacuous.

We know. I don't judge Christianity by the actions of one Christian.

The Bible tells me the motivations and actions of the atheist are not pure and or good. Granted, I do not need a Bible to be able to tell that the atheist is not living Christ like. Anyways, seeing God's Word is something I trust and has guided my life and has always proven to be right and true, I am merely going off what God's Word simply says (See Romans 1:18-32).

No dear sir. Your motivation is not without selfish motives. If God and His Word is correct, that means you would have to give up some kind of sin (And in loving the ways of this world and it's thinking which runs contrary to God and His Word) and repent of your sins and walk uprightly. Seeing you are not willing to do these things, you are not without selfish motives, dear sir. You may say that you are fighting against Christianity so as to be superman (Who fights for truth and seeks to put down evil, injustice, and bad guys), but we both know that this is not the case.

Not all atheists attack Christianity. Terry Eagleton, for one, is better known for attacking Dawkins, Harris & Co.

Fundamentalist Christians and fundamentalist atheists need one another as justification for their own vituperation, and they both feel threatened by the other.

Pure and/or good based on your subjective view of them. Do you feel like you should be compelled to live according to how I say you should live and do things how I say you should do them?

This is also completely off what I was talking about. You are responding about general behavior, when I was responding to your post about attacking people...

So your response to people asking you to not make up people's motivations is:
"I didn't make up their motivations. I got some other Christians to make it up for me."

Foolish.
