What passes for "science" these days is just laughable. They can not say anything meaningful about something 39 light years away. It's just not possible. But, they can speculate enough to keep the money rolling in, so that's a plus.

We must keep in mind that biblical cosmology envisioned a flat earth with a dome overhead enclosing a hemispherical space. To the ancients that was the universe. The moon, sun, planets and stars were simply lights within the hemisphere. They had no idea that the earth was a sphere or those lights above very frequently incredibly larger than the earth itself and were actually an incredibly long distance away.

I have a hard time wrapping my head around how big Saturn and Jupiter are, much less super-giants or Cephied variable stars.

Which could be...? Earth, this planet, our solar system specifically, our galaxy, are all, each "perfect" ones...

It may require these kinds of "perfect" conditions and circumstances for life to be able to come about on any planet, anywhere... In which case, despite the sheer numbers, we could possibly be the only ones of our kind and very extremely "unique"... There is still the possibility, according to that, that we could be "the only ones" and our planet, is the only planet like it, and we are, the only ones like us, despite the sheer numbers...

I am open to either possibility and can't wait to see what they find... Hope it happens in my lifetime and I am still alive at the time, I would really like to know, for sure...

I would not, and does not change my belief about God in any way...

I used to be a big fan of Star Trek and science fiction. These types of fiction had continued to influence my way of thinking when I first became a Christian. You have to think that the entertainment of this world even has an agenda to change your mind on things that goes contrary to God's Word. In my earlier years as a Christian, I used to believe science fiction was science fact. Why? Well, I was young in the Lord and still wanted to hold onto the ways of the world and believe there was life on other worlds, and that there were parallel universes, and that time travel existed. Why? Because it sounded cool. I am so glad the Lord gave me His power and strength to reject all forms of secular entertainment. On my own, I could never do it. For in time, God made me to see that these fictional ideas in science fiction were contrary to His Word.

Also, the Bible mentions both of the fall of man and the fall of angels. It is odd that the Bible makes no mention of the lives of aliens and if they fell into sin and also need Jesus as their Savior. Man is created in the image of God (Genesis 1:27). So man is unique within God's creation. There is no mention of aliens being on the New Earth. There is no mention of aliens at a judgment, either. In other words, extraterriestrial life is simply alien or foreign to the Bible. Actually, people's encounters with aliens is not all that different than with demons. So this tells us that they are merely demons in disguise. It is not a coincidence that atheists and spiritualists who reject the Bible are in favor strongly of the existence of extraterriestrial life. This should give the Christian pause that they should accept these things or not. For it is better to err on the side of caution than to be foot loose and fancy free in regards to one's faith in the Lord. For if all alien encounters are demonic (of which I believe they are), then the study of aliens will lead you into the realm of the evil one and not towards the Lord our God.

I used to be an atheist at one time. I remember arguing with my Christian friend that there was no God. Good thing God had other plans for me. The age of the Earth is really not all that important for you to know first in this life. What is important for you to know first is Jesus Christ. By knowing Jesus Christ and walking with Him, He will help you to sort out things like the age of the Earth according to His Word.

Right, because there are all kind of transitional fossils out there for us to see. I mean, where are all the half giraffe half something else type bones. If Evolution was true, then there should be a ton of transitional fossils everywhere. The lack of transitional fossils is one of the many problems with Evolution. It is a fantasy. Also, how does life form out of non-life? Can a rock ever give birth to a fungus or microscopic life? Where does this complex code of life that has evolved truly come from? Do you ever wonder about the perfect life conditions of the Earth? The chances of such a thing happening are pretty astronomical. Just like Evolution. Also, if you just came from the slime, then that means there is no such thing as morality. Murder would not exist in your world view because it would just be one singled cell organism eliminating another single celled organism by the process of natural selection. But you have certain of God's laws written upon your heart telling you that certain things are wrong. If Evolution was true, you would have no conviction of any kind of sin or wrong doing in your life. Sin or wrong doing suggests that we sinned against a Creator God as the Bible suggests. So I would invite you to read your Bible and to seek out Jesus as your Savior.

In astronomy earth-like means rocky/metallic rather than gaseous and of similar size. It doesn't mean it can support life, much less humans.

Astronomers invent terms as a part of the world agenda. They are not unbiased to the world system. Also, most people who read the internet have short attention spans and read a little bit of an article and then they move on. The wording of "Earthlike" is deceptive to a common person who sees the headlines of an article and then moves on without reading too much. I guarantee you there are people today who heard about this article and they either didn't bother to read it (or they read a little bit of it) and they think the article is talking about planets that are able to support human life on some capacity. People have all kinds of crazy ideas these days. It's how Trump was able to get into the White house.

And were did you get your thoughts about atheists "celebrating" Christians being wrong? Because I'm inclined to think the source was your imagination.

You obviously have never been on forums long enough to see a Christian and atheist debate online before to see such a thing. Atheists mock and laugh at Christians. This is not a new thing, my friend.

It boils down to this, people put way too much stock on this old earth, new earth, evolution happened, didn't happen, on proving or disproving the Bible.
In reality, neither do anything to support, or refute it.

Science isn't some sort of weapon against God, or Christianity, it's used as such by the more ignorant.
It's simply a tool to figure out how things work, that's it.

The genealogy of Jesus Christ can be traced from Mary's line in Luke 3 all the way back to Adam. There is no millions of years in this genealogy. There is also no gap theory mentioned in the Bible, either. Eve means the mother of all who lives. Jesus also says, "And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made themat the beginning made them male and female, And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh." (Matthew 19:4-6 - Cross reference this with Genesis 2:24).

Anyways, I think you should take a step back and look objectively at what the Bible says without any outside biased ideas being crammed into it. For the fact that atheists agree with your line of thinking here should give you pause. For usually atheists reject what Christians say, my friend.

In saying this, yes, I am saying I believe in the very real possibility of alien life.

Actually, the Bible mentions that there is a New Earth in Revelation. This is the end of the story and there are no other Earths mentioned. For what purpose would they serve if man will not live on them? Why would God keep alien life separate on these other planets? Anyways, whether you are aware of it or not, these aliens do not like Jesus Christ. For those Christians who had encounters with aliens, they were able to cast out these aliens in the name of Jesus. So clearly they are demons in disguise here.

Then how can you be sure encounters with angels aren't actually demons?

We are told in Scripture to test the spirits to see whether they are of God or not. They should be able admit to you and or to confess that Jesus Christ has come into the flesh (i.e. the Incarnation). Also, angels will also not tell you to do something that is contrary to God's Word and or that would go outside of it, too.
