Sola scripture is already a deviation from scripture, since the Bible itself says that it is not the only authoritative source of information about God and His purposes.

I use the bible exclusively for my instruction. I base everything off of scripture. I am doing quite well spiritually. Of course i am not boasting, that would be foolish i think, but sola scripture isn't a contradiction, so i testify.

And vice verse

Many can read the (written) WORD and still not be saved

I think I'll add another (4th) standard to my Boolean standards:

1. Bible says X, science says X = go with X
2. Bible says X, science says Y = go with X
3. Bible says Ø, science says Y = go with Y
4. Bible says Ø, science says Ø = speculate

Sola Scriptura stands in opposition to scripture. It's important to take the word of God as it is, without exceptions.
