what did Jesus say to the scribes and pharisees about their studying ?

Joh 5:37 And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape.
Joh 5:38 And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye believe not.
Joh 5:39 Search the Scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
Joh 5:40 And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.

Do ya ever think about the lady at the cash register that is sorta slow and ya got a million groceries and two kids that are tired and cranky and the line was long and the store was loud and yer gettin' a short fuse and then you get to the lady and puts on her "company smile" you are feeling tired and wanting to lash out at someone and she's handy but instead of saying something mean ya just ignore her and treat her like an ATM sort of robot and wish she'd just hurry up but then you see the tired eyes and then wonder how long she's been working and if there are kids at home for her and if there's a ring is her marriage ok and what has she dealt with all day and is there some bad news in her life but she has to pretend everything is ok because it's her job...

I have to look past a person's role and see the person there. It's been a fault of mine to judge a person by their role, what they do (and often do for me, since I was boss over so many people for so long. I even view people like doctors & plumbers as "day labor" and they are working for me. If I pay you something, you work for me...), how they make their living, and see if I can actually find and meet the person underneath, even if it's a brief word to the lady at the register.

:doh:i wonder if i'm turning into a woman:doh:

It's neat how it seems the scales have fallen and I'm looking at people in a different way. I casually speak to total strangers in a gentle and friendly manner. I realize that if you treat people (friends, neighbors, total strangers) as though you are greeting Christ then all fear and anxiety just sorta falls away.

I meet more and more new people everyday in my new assignment, and for some of the Service guys that is the hardest part of the job. I look forward to the contact.

Serve others as serving Christ. It's funny to note that the name of my department is "Service Department"...

I think it's very fitting. :)

In fact, I think we've all been placed in the Service Department...
