It's kind of odd how it's all happened lately isn't it? I think we were just getting too comfy, all sitting around agreeing with each other....LOL

It is a bit unnerving when somebody (like you know who) comes tearing in and causing so much trouble.

It is odd how we are treated like we have the plague or something. Hey, maybe it's because we are on to something??? ;)

A long time ago, when I was a new calvinist, there was a thread somewhere where someone posted "what's your favorite heresey?" and man oh man, we calvinists got ragged on something fierce. Me and a few others cheekily posted that of course calvinism was the best heresy! Not too many people appreciated the humor(and they say WE don't have a sense of humor! HA)

This area is by FAR the best, and most reasonable area on the whole site. Of course I'm sure I'm a bit biased, but I wasn't a calvinist at all when I came to CF, and when I found this room, I was immediately impressed with the biblical knowledge, kindness, level-headedness, and humor I saw here. No one was dodging questions, no one was accusatory, no one was afraid to tackle the real questions, everyone was reasonable, and best of all, everyone was showing a real love for each other.

So, no matter what anyone says, I say you guys are great! (Tony the Tiger is flashing on my brain right now......)

Gosh, I'm getting all sappy...I better stop now.

(getting teary eyed.....I love you guys.......sniff sniff......)

Dear God,
Thank You for bringing me here to CF and using these wonderful people to help me understand You and Your greatness more fully. You are MIGHTY and AWESOME and I will proclaim Your Greatness to all. Please help all of us here at Semper Reformanda to keep our eyes on YOU, to be a light in the darkness, and help us to help others to understand you more fully. What wonders await those who grasp Your true Greatness and Soveriegnity.

In Jesus' great and mighty name! Amen

perhaps I'm a bit older than some of you ........... :D

but I remember watching a film years ago , you may have seen it , "Fiddler on The Roof " .... such a wonderful film with a fine blend of a good story line , politics , religion , love , and a great musical score too (If I was a rich man )

well somewhere in the film , which is very funny in places , Topov , who speaks to God almost constantly , thanks God for being amongst the chosen people , then he considers his extreme poverty and persecution and says "can you choose someone else next time !!!!!!! " :D :D :D ........ it was said in such a deep respectful but amuzing way , and I guess that this is all part and parcel of being chosen , also it does help if a sense of humour can be reverantly grasped....

I agree with IMBlessed. Good prayer too!

I sort of stepped out some in a thread on non-denominational called "can you fall from being saved" and I would be interested to know if you guys from this forum are in agreement with what I said. I'm pretty confident I am on the right track, but I don't think many from that forum will like it much.

Just curious.

I checked out that thread just a few minutes ago and I'd say you are doing just fine! No one is freaking out yet! that's a good thing. You even got someone said they'd think on what you said...that's cool!

But I remember seeing Fiddler on teh Roof as a kid. It was one of my favs, right up there with Sound of Music. I watched it recently on TV -- it is a great film. I love the way Topov talks to God all the time!

BTW, you are quite the clothes horse! You have more outfits than me! ^_^

ROgers and Hammerstein, I think. I know they wrote the music anyway.

IT's the story of the Von Trapp family -- now their grandchildren are performing musicians.

Which is what the original Von Trapp family were.
