I am seeking help for my situation but am unsure about posting all details on open forum. Basically I came back to relationship with God, started attending a church but have experienced some difficulties. I kept seeing a couple of elders for chats and prayer here and there.
My question is, should any outside help I seek always be run by the elders? I mean in terms of seekng prayer ministry in particular.
It's your choice, a lot of churches are cults.
Study the bible it takes a lot of years to understand, but the elders probably don't understand it anyway.

Again a question that will get you all kind of answers. You are not doing wrong. You know as you were at one time standing talking ot that elder? Now.. alone.. think of Jesus. Jesus no matter what we personally think. IS more real then they are. Jesus believe it or not understand far more better then any man does. So.. ask Him. DONT go by how you FEEL what you SEE or hear. Go by faith. KNOW that you KNOW that you KNOW HE hears you. He IS your friend.. HE is your best friend. He is your brother. Elder brother hello! He is your savior He is YOUR GOD!

So.. talk to Him. Just TALK. BUT KNOW that He hears you. And KNOW no matter what some man says on this earth. KNOW that in that WORD if HE hears you HE WILL answer you. You NEVER have to wonder.. HE WILL always answer. Again.. go by what that WORD says.. not me not anyone. Its wise to ask talk to others. But in the end.. we must get to the point that HE is our GOD our savior and NEVER left us..ever.

If you KNEW God can NEVER Lie.. now read that book :) Were not just talking about some GOD but your REAL TRUE Father. Dont go by what I say or anyone. YOU seek 1st HIS kingdom and HIS righteousness. All these things will be added to you. HE CANT LIE! Faith? OH MAN it MOVES HIM! HE LOVES IT! So.. take that step.. you cant fall.. HE is always there

It depends on, whose disciple you want to be. If you want to be disciple of Jesus (=”Christian”),I recommend you to read the Bible and what Jesus says and pray God as Jesus taught.

It is nice, if you ask from elders, but I think it is important to understand that they are also only humans. You are free to ask form anyone you want and you are free to think by yourself. There is no Biblical reason why everything must go through the elders. And even the elders can be wrong and also their words should be evaluated by the Bible.

Thank you for asking. I fell away for a long time, myself. Then events in my life, led me back to a more intimate relationship with the Lord, going to church, and a prayer life. Having a prayer life, means that you open up to the Lord. Talk to him, that is what prayers are. I try to read the Bible an hour a day. That is his written Word. So a lot of "responses", are actually already in there. That's why it helps to read the Bible often. I have found his Word to be most helpful as it is full of truth and the tools to help you discern where to turn and how to identify people that are trustworthy. Do things to help you stay connected to God. Others are for support and guidance. They are brothers and sisters in Christ, nothing more. We are all fellow servants of the Lord.

When it comes to "heavy shepherding", read this link
What is heavy shepherding?
It explains in great detail. A lot of questions you might have.
Maybe you feel scared, or unsure, because the Holy Spirit is telling you that something is wrong. First and foremost, Focus on God and let your trust be in him. Open your heart and your mind to the Lord in all your ways. Don't allow people to conform you into a particular way of thinking, because your relationship with the Lord is truly between you and him. I myself have had some pretty off the wall views at times, and consider myself to be rather "outside the box". But I also enjoy a relationship with the Lord, and peace with him, and strength with him, that I rarely see in other believers. That is because I talk to the Lord, and he with me. Prayer is important. It is personal. Again, that link above may help a lot. Actually taught me a few things looking it up. For that I am grateful for your question. I shall pray for you. May the Lord put his hedge of protection around you. Bless you.
Good reply.I am like you.You can not put God in a box and me to.Alway keep Jesus as your covering.
