is this the same "ex-lesbian" who is married to the "ex-gay" john paulk? you know, the one who was on the cover of time with his wife, and held a prominent role in exodus international until he was busted drinking in a gay bar?

You know.... I had heard about this, but didn't recognize the name. Thank you for that information. This is getting more and more interesting.

Does anyone here know either of them?

It sounds like they have been under a lot of attack for trying to offer people a way out of what they see as thier own stumbling block. Can you imagine how terrible the guilt burdon would be if you were hit with something like this after making it a public issue? I just hope that the incident didn't drive a wedge between this couple and thier love for God.

Yeah yeah, chill out. I was at a sports bar a while ago, but it didn't make me an athlete.

A more apt analogy would be Pete Rose being spotted at a sports betting casino betting on MLB games after announcing he'd never bet on professional baseball again.

That's very exaggerated. Going to a bar for people with SSA does not make one gay. In fact, I used to work in Madison, Wisconsin, which has the second highest percentage of homosexuals in the U.S. There was a restaurant/bar there called Club 5. The gays last summer actually were getting upset because it was being overrun with straights when the other places got packed, and it was 'their place'. And actually, I have to point out a little hypocrisy here: if dating people of the same sex is the same as having a certain skin color such as black or white or yellow, then having a 'gay bar' is just like having a 'whites bar'.

I know quite a few bars who refuse people based soley on their race. Gay bars and clubs usually refuse people who profess to be heterosexual because of past experiences with harassment. I know lesbian clubs won't allow men in unless they are with a woman.

Both of those instances are bad, I think.

The onus is upon you to provide official references (from the APA, for example) which would otherwise support your assertion. Otherwise, things such as personal testimony cannot hold up as factual. In irony, the mental stability (or lack thereof) of your source actually discredits it as being valid -- how are we supposed to trust the statement of this woman in knowing that she struggles with so many emotional issues?

On a side note, I think it's funny when theists try to imply that there is a correlation between homosexuality and developmental psychology, yet are quick to deny any arguments that propose similar assertions toward theology having detrimental effects on the mind.
