  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Day 176: Aug 3

Jonah 1 through 4

I love this story! So much lessons to learn about human nature. First, it's interesting to see how God is indeed merciful, He gave Nineveh a chance to repent, by sending Jonah. Jonah, on the otherhand, didn't want that responsibility to warn them because he believed that instead of mercy they deserve punishment. God had to do drastic measures to get Jonah back on mission. God's heart is really pure, one that does not want anyone to perish, He even overflowed his mercy towards Jonah. God could have easily dismissed Jonah and called another prophet, but God was also working in Jonah's heart. Sometimes we, like Jonah, want to repay evil with judgment, but have to be careful with this, because even when we were yet sinners, Christ loved us and offered us repentance and a new life. We are all deserving of damnation, and yet the God we serve is not one Who has a cold heart, but one who is love and just.

Day 177: Aug 4

2 Kings 15
2 Chronicles 26

2 Chronicles 26:
16 But when he was strong, his heart was lifted up, so that he did corruptly, and he trespassed against Jehovah his God; for he went into the temple of Jehovah to burn incense upon the altar of incense.

woah....talk about pride! So sad, that King Uzziah actually started out as a good King, but pride comes before a fall, he knew only the priests were allowed to offer incense back then, his disobedience was his way of sort of saying to God that he doesn't honor God's Holiness and majesty. This scenario reminded me of way back, the story of Cain and Abel, where Cain insisted that his offering would be accepted by God. I think the lesson here is we cannot just force our ways into God's ways. God has specific instructions and such that we are supposed to follow, so it's really important to be careful when it comes to the things of God lest we sin.

I had to use another reference Bible, lol there's so much going on in these chapters in regards to prophecies fulfilled and yet to be fulfilled. I tried reading it raw, and got lost because there's a certain lingo and some rhetoric going on. Such as the book of Amos, which has 50% prophetic content. But it is cool to see the prophecy of Isaiah about the coming messiah and I never knew Isaiah had a son, that's cool to know. I'm using the Tim LaHaye Prophecy Study Bible.

Gaaah I'm behind again lol. I'll get my reading done today! This current reading is deep stuff, lots of prophecies and predictions, many of what's going on/happened in Israel/middle east or what's gonna happen there, and many prophecies about Jesus.

I was getting kinda lost lol cause there's a lot of history going on and I needed to be able to visualize what I was reading. I found this vids helpful, they are short but able to summarize what the chapters were about.
