I get very nervous about people who try to give the impression that they follow everything EGW wrote. They don't even do everything that Jesus taught. Why don't allow EGW to rest in peace. Read her books if you want to. Apply her advice to your life where possible. Enjoy life.

This statement seems to follow my thought lines. God gave us all we need to know between the covers of the Bible. I enjoy writings of many Christian authors, and I believe that there is a certain amount of the Holy Ghost working through all of those writings.
I find it disturbing and alarming that so many SDA's get hung up on issues that really don't matter. There is a fine line between being a legalist and an adventist sometimes. JMO, so don't hange me for it!

I agree with what you have said... and yes we tend to get hung up on minor issues....

This last sentence stuck out in my mind. Didn't we just have an extensive tussle a short while ago because Tall claimed that on a certain point Matthew was not theologically correct? Am I missing something?

I don't think there was any incitation (is that a word?). But, I just seemed to see a relationship.

Thanks StormyOne... and through all the minor issues, I still love this church and I truly do enjoy their sacrifices to keep the sanctity of the Sabbath, and their adherence to the Bible. If you want a Bible-believing church, I can't think of a church that emphasizes it more, however, man tends to screw everything up.

Perhaps... there are a few churches that emphasize the bible, but only with their particular spin on it....

How does one love a church? I ask from the standpoint that the church is comprised of people....so is it the people or something else that you love?

I love the church in regards to not only the physical one I attend and it's people, but also I love the doctrine put forth and it's core of beliefs.

Thanks for your clarification... I am attempting to wrap my brain around the concept of loving a doctrine, or loving a core of beliefs.... I am not there yet, so bear with me...

Naah; remember ecclesiastes 9:5... for the living know that they shall die but the dead know not anything... you could declare it with a bullhorn standing on her grave and she'd be none the wiser...

but I don't think most of the time folk go through gyrations regarding EGW (not saying that this is one of those times; just making an observation) it's not about EGW anyway...
