• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

You r standing in a long line and someone begins to smoke even though there are signs all around stating no smoking in this area! Do you speak up and show them?:o

Probably not...though I would be fuming inside. Could be the day thought that I would!

Your friend has a scheme that she thinks will make a fortune. You think it will bomb. Are you honest about your feelings?

Yep...I'd be tactful about it, but if you can't be honest with your friends who can you be honest with? Also, she deserves to have my advice on the matter as a friend. :)

You see someone who is really horrible to you and others walking out of a public toilet with toilet tissue on their shoe...do you point it out or let them embarrass themselves?

Good answer. ;) I'd probably not say anything even if it was my mate...just for a good laugh! :D

Will you pick up a hitchiker and give them a ride or look away as you pass by?

It depends really...if it looks like I could beat him up in case he picks a fight or the hitchiker is a female then yes. Not very nice, but there are some strange people out there...

I'll ask the same question I did last time since it got skipped...

A man in an expensive suit is rushing down the street talking on his phone. He pushes past a homeless man and an elderly woman, nearly knocking them over and then drops £100 on the floor without noticing and continues walking. Do you give him the money or figure he doesn't deserve it?

If the couple are still there, I'd say I think this must be yours.

I think I might should stay out of this thread my ethics are not in the upper percent.

It's the third time you are about to be late to work and you may get fired. You stopped for gas put your last 20 in the tank and backed up in a hurry and hit the car behind you--no one is in the car driver is on the pay phone inside the store (you know there are no security cameras)-do you stop and report the accident or drive away as though you did not realize what you had done?

It's still his, so I'd give it back to him.

If a manager (who was horrible to you) was fired for stealing $900 from the company, would you be glad she was gone or be upset that she was leaving just because it's the right thing?

I'd be glad s/he was gone, but also sad for him/her that s/he was so misled. :sigh:

If you could download free music illegally - but not get caught, 'cause they wouldn't track people down for that kind of thing - would you do it?

Yep, I probably would. :sorry: And you can do that...but I can't be bothered and don't trust the sites not to put viruses and spyware on my computer.

I'll ask my other previous question that wasn't answered since I can't think of any more. :D

You are in a bar in Austria in the early 1900s talking to a young artist by the name of Adolf Hitler. You know what he will become. Do you poison his drink?

No. Murder's wrong. I couldn't kill somebody because he will sin.

In the midst of his reign, I could. I see tat as defense of others, and justified. But sitting at the bar knowing that he one day will sin? I honestly couldn't live with myself either way, but that's the decision I could probably live slightly better with myself making. :sigh:

If you're sitting with a friend/family member listening to music, and they begin playing a song you personally don't approve of, what would you do? Ask them not to play it? Turn it off yourself? Make an excuse to leave the room? Leave the room, letting them know why you are? Not say or do anything? Another option I haven't though of?

Along this same line I had one that I never saw a response to:

I stop and report...you will have proof for your employer as to why you are late...and even if you couldn't get prrof...I would still report.

The price tag on the pants you are buying is $28, but the salesperson has rung up $24. Do you ask if there is a mistake?

Yes. The speed limit is 55 mph but you are in a hurry. Do you speed breaking the law or stay within the posted speed limit?

I have enough speeding tickets to paper a large wall and the insurance premiums to go w/it. I think I may have been a NASCAR driver in another life.

You are getting a divorce (hubby's GF is w/child), do you list adultery as cause in the papers or irreconcilable differences--you know you are likely to get more child/spousal support if you use adultery.

No Way--that's guaranteed income

Your finance takes you to meet their family, you are appalled at whatever kind of lifestyle they live, do you discuss the matter with your betrothed?

Absolutely...or offer to do what I could to help. I have been there...along side the road in a blizzard with two children!

The new policy in your office is no checking personal e-mail. Do you sneak once in a while anyway?
