• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Scruples...a game of ethics

I would ask her of the needs and then buyit for her! No money unless I really felt of the LOrd to give it!

You come to an off ramp on the interstate! There for the last three weeks the same man is there with a sign saying that he is hungry and homeless! He has not appeared in that whole time to have missed any meals or that he has missed many baths! Do yuo give him money or keep going?

I don't give money to men.

You get home from the grocery store, and you notice that the clerk gave you the wrong amount of change back...in your favor. The clerk was not very courteous to you, the store is a half hour away and you're tired. What do you do?

I would call the manager to let him/her know both about the money and the clerk. Then I would mail it, or if it was a store I frequented I would take it the next time I went back.

You work for a company that couldn't or wouldn't notice a long distance call if you made it. Would you make a personal long distnace call from work?

Yes.

There is a $20 on the floor of the changing room in a department store-do you put it in your pocket, leave it at the service desk, or not pick it up at all.

Oh I answer, my automatic response do Do me a Favor is "Do I owe you a favor?"

Ever bought something to wear, wore it then took it back to the store for an exchange?

Yes, it was a terrible mistake. I pulled my ex off his pregnant GF (Who had to have 8 stiches) only to have him call me laughing about it and her crying and begging me to let him alone. It was terribly full of drama--see my prev response, now I just dial 911 and let them handle it. it's their job.

Have you ever looked down your nose at someone poorer than you?

Picking up a hitch hiker in L.A. is just asking for trouble. I would keep driving.

A young woman with a baby, who look homeless and destitute, ask you if you can spare some change as you're walking into the grocery store. What do you do?

If I have it, then I'd give it, all the while keeping an eye on her.

A homeless person asks you for change, saying that he plans to use it to buy something to eat (you normally wouldn't give if you knew he'd use it for drugs or alcohol). You give him some money, but notice that right away, he goes into the store and walks out with a case of beer. Two weeks later, that same man approaches you, asking again for money, and again claiming it's for food. Do you give it to him this time?

No, but I would offer to buy him a meal or some food.

The deer limit in your area is three...2 does and one buck. Your neighbor and friend kills nine...none for meat...just for fun. Do you report him?

No. (The deer in my area are over-abundant, I encourage the hunters, since I've lost 2 vehicles to Deer)

Is it ok to tell a white lie if you know/believe the truth will hurt someone?

No, I don't think it is ok, but I have done it.

You are a a sit-down restaurant, and when the check comes, they didn't charge you for your pops...do you tell them the mistake, or just pay and leave?

Yes, I would continue because my church is more than just a building. My church also would ask him/her to leave if there was ever a problem.

You discover that a colleague who you think of as incompetent gained her position by using false credentials. Do you expose her?

Not unless she is in a position of direct person care (say a surgeon). If she's a bean counter let her count.

When someone ask's a personal question such as HOW MUCH DO YOU MAKE how do you answer?
