The fact that God justified the ungodly Rom 4:5 shows that one for whom Christ died is saved from the penalty of their sins, Justified while in unbelief.

5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. 3

His death made it such that anyone can have His Holy Spirit in them guiding them.
To receive the Holy Spirit one needs only believe that Christ died and rose from the dead.
The Holy Spirit does the personal work of salvation in a believers life.

Not by works of righteousness we have done, but by His mercy He saved us by the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Ghost,
which He shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our savior. Titus 3:5-6

If you live after the flesh you shall die,
but if you through the Spirit do put to death the deeds of the flesh, you shall live.
Because as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the ones born of God.
Romans 8:13-14

Thats wrong, everyone Christ died for shall receive the Holy Spirit in order to be given faith to believe in Him.

See after He died and went to the Father, He was given the Holy Spirit to pour out on His Offspring He died for

Acts 2:31-33

31 He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.

32 This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.

33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.

God has mercy on some for their unbelief. In Rom 11 its seen that some Gentiles received mercy even in unbelief Rom 11:30-31

30 For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief:

And some jews who are in unbelief obtain mercy as well:

31 Even so have these[jews] also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy.

Some People from amongest the Gentiles and Jews who are unbelievers, will inspite of it, obtain mercy from God. These are the vessels of mercy Paul speaks of in Rom 9:23-4

23 And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory,

24 Even us, whom he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?

See unbelief wont stop God from having mercy upon these and regenerate them and give them faith Titus 3:5

5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

Vessels of Mercy can never be condemned for, nor die in unbelief !

So the elect from amongst the jews and gentiles, for their unbelief, they obtain mercy Rom 11:30-32

30 For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief:

31 Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy.

32 For God hath concluded them all[elect jew/gentile] in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.

Paul was one of the elect jews who through his unbelief obtained mercy 1 Tim 1:12-13

12 And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry;

13 Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.

See God could have condemned Paul to hell while in unbelief as He Justly does to others Rom 11:20

20 Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:

Jn 3:18

18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

So clearly all are not cut off, rejected of God because of their unbelief ! Some obtain mercy instead of Justice !

One of the most disappointing things about religion these days, that goes in the name of Christianity, and claims to believe in Christ, and what He accomplished on the Cross by suffering and dying for sin, is that it didn't guarantee no ones salvation. Im going to show that scripture declares without a shadow of doubt that Christs death, burial and resurrection saves a person even while they are unbelievers, and enemies. Even then that God himself is reconciled to them.

The first scripture is Rom 5:10

10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

Thats being saved from Gods penalty of sin and received into His favor even while an enemy to God !

For peace was made for Paul, as well as other elect persons by the blood /death of Christ's cross Col 1:20-22

20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.

21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled

22 In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:

God has no wrath for a rebellious unbelieving sinner for whom Christ died lest His death was to God of no effect, God forbid !
The Bible is true, God did reach out to us while we were still sinners. None of us “proved” our worthiness through living the way God wanted on our own. It is only under God’s direction that we can live righteous. But it is untrue that God just “chose” certain wicked ones to make righteous and left everyone else in a state of sin.

The fact is God “opens our ears to instruction”, (everyone’s) and “commands that we turn from iniquity”, our response is what determines our outcome. Our response to God determines whether we will be saved.

Job 36:9-12 Then He tells them their work and their transgressions—That they have acted defiantly. He also opens their ear to instruction, And commands that they turn from iniquity. If they obey and serve Him, They shall spend their days in prosperity, And their years in pleasures. But if they do not obey, They shall perish by the sword, And they shall die without knowledge.

John 14:22-24 Judas (not Iscariot) said to Him, "Lord, how is it that You will manifest Yourself to us, and not to the world?" Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father's who sent Me.

Notice the steps to receiving the Holy Spirit above. God gives the wisdom of His word, both His commands and His offer of salvation by faith. If we obey them, the Father will love us, and manifest Himself to us. If we suppress the word of God, so we can go on sinning (John 3:19, Romans 1: 18-19) we will fall under the judgment of God.

Our faith is evidence of our obedience to God. Our belief is evidence that we have received Him.

Five scriptures that clearly teach the Death of Christ saves !

One thing i find to be prominent in the religious world, and thats them who dare to utter the blasphemous words:

The death of Christ doesn't save anyone. or The death of Christ doesnt save anyone but His life does, referring to Rom 5:10

10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

Now I ask where in this verse does it say "the death of Christ doesnt save anyone" ? It doesnt ! Yes it says "we shall be saved by His Life" but who is that referring to ? Believers, the already saved, they shall be saved in the future. Salvation is in three tenses scripturally speaking, past, present and future. The we here in the phrase" we shall be saved by his life"
are not lost people.

In fact they are saved, justified and reconciled people who Christ died for, And this in fact will be scripture #1 that proves without a shadow of doubt, that Christ's Death alone saved them He died for.

Now how do we know this ? Simple, Paul says that Believers were reconciled to God while being enemies or unbelievers. Now to be reconciled to God is Salvation, at least an aspect of it, its to be saved from the penalty of sin, and to be put into a right relationship with God, to be received into His Favour. The word reconciled here is the greek word katallassō and means:

to change, exchange, as coins for others of equivalent value

  1. to reconcile (those who are at variance)
  2. return to favour with, be reconciled to one
  3. to receive one into favour

Now those in the Favour of God are not lost, not by a long shot, they are saved from the Wrath of God and the Penalty of Sin. Paul writes to the Thessalonians 1 Thess 1:10

And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.

His being rasied from the dead certifies that His death delivered them from the wrath to come.

So when men say that the death of Christ never saved anyone, beware, that's a false teacher ! They have not been sent of God to bear the testimony of the Gospel !

Now scripture #2 that teaches the Death of Christ alone saves them He died for, the first being Rom 5:10 is Heb 10:14

14 by one offering[His Death] he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified Folks being perfected forever is Salvation, its being saved ! And How ? By One Offering which is His Death ! He hath perfected forever them which are sanctified or being sanctified, passive voice. They are being Sanctified because they have been made Perfect Perfect tense by the death of Christ !

The word perfect is the greek word teleioō and means:

  1. to make perfect, complete
    1. to carry through completely, to accomplish, finish, bring to an end
    to complete (perfect)
    1. add what is yet wanting in order to render a thing full
      [to be found perfect
to bring to the end (goal) proposed
  2. to accomplish
    1. bring to a close or fulfilment by event
      1. of the prophecies of the scriptures

Now that greek word comes from teleios which Jesus uses here with the young ruler Matt 19:21

Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.

And that being perfect ensures eternal treasures in heaven ! Now who wants to debate thats not Salvation for being Perfect. The thing is, Christ required the young ruler to do something to acquire being perfect, whereas scripture in Heb 10:14 reveals that Christ's Death/Offering makes them He died for Perfected forever, thats Salvation ensured by Gods own word !

#3. A scripture that teaches the life and death of Christ alone saved them He lived and died for ! Rom 5:19

19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

The Obedience of Christ here is comprised of His Life of Law Keeping Obedience unto the Death of the Cross as stated here Phil 2:8

8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

And the result of that Obedience is many SHALL BE MADE RIGHTEOUS ! Thats Salvation, to be made Righteous is to be saved. The Righteous shall shine in the Kingdom of their Father Matt 13:43Then shall
the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

How come they to be made Righteous ? By the Obedience of One Rom 5:19 , even the death of the Cross, by which also they were perfected forever Heb 10:14

No matter how you slice it, their obedience had nothing to do with being made righteous, because that would overthrow the clear declaration of Rom 5:19 that it was by the Obedience of One that the many were made Righteous, saved !

#4 Another scripture that teaches salvation is the result of the death of Christ is 1 Pet 2:24

24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

The word stripes here is speaking of His Death, the baring of our sins, which results in our being healed !
Now the word healed is the greek word iaomai and means:

  1. to cure, heal
  2. to make whole

    1. to free from errors and sins, to bring about (one's) salvation

To bring about ones salvation means to effect it, to actualize it.

      To make one whole.

Now this is credited to Christ's stripes or His sufferings unto death when He bare our sins !

This scripture is also witnessed in the Prophets Isa 53:5

But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

We are healed because of and as an effect of His stripes. We became believers because of and as an effect of His stripes !

#5. Another passage of scripture that teaches the death of Christ alone saves them He died for is Rev 1:5-6

5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,

6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Now notice what this passage subscribes to Christ alone :

That He Loved us as He did His Church Eph 5:25

25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

He washed us from our sins in His own Blood !Note, everyone Christ Loved, He washed them from their sins in His own Blood.

The word for washed is the greek word luó and means:
I loose, untie, release, (b) met: I break, destroy, set at naught, contravene; I break up a meeting, annul.

It has to do with being freed from our sins Rom 6:7

7 For he that is dead is freed from sin. And this is Justification, the word freed here is the greek word dikaioó and means:

I make righteous, defend the cause of, plead for the righteousness (innocence) of, acquit, justify; hence: I regard as righteous.

Now those whom Christ Loved, He washed from their sins, which freed them from the guilt and condemnation due to them, and made them righteous: ( Rom 5:19)

Jn Gill writes:

and washed us from our sins in his own blood; which shows that these persons were loved before washed; they were not first washed, and then loved, but first loved, and then washed. Love was the cause of washing, and not washing the cause of love; hence it appears that they were in themselves filthy, and unclean through sin; and that they could not cleanse themselves by anything they could do; and that such was the love of Christ to them, that he shed his precious blood for them, which is a fountain opened, to wash in for sin, and which cleanses from all sin. This is to be understood, not of the sanctification of their natures, which is the work of the Spirit, but of atonement for their sins, and justification from them by the blood of Christ, whereby they are so removed, that they are all fair, and without spot

Justification from sin is the result of Christ Loving those He Loved, and those He Loved, He gave Himself for which washed them from their sins in His Own Blood !

#5. Another passage of scripture that teaches the death of Christ alone saves them He died for is Rev 1:5-6 Pt 2

Amen.

Now lets continue to look at the passage and see the rich Saving Grace revealed, not only did the death of Christ effect the washing us from our sins, which is Justification.

But it makes us Kings and Priests unto God ! Thats Spiritual conversion, Spiritual life. It effects conversion and service. And no wonder John concludes the passage with these words :

to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. That is to Christ, to Him be Glory and Dominion, the results and effects of His Death !
