  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Actually, I did. Not one piece of coal was found in that borehole.
I haven't thrown any down there yet.
Actually, though, I have to commend you. You're braver than I am. There's no way I could work in a mine.

I did, however, study rocks. And the rocks I personally studied are very, very old.
Did they tell you this? Did you examine their birth certificates? If they didn't birth certificates I know a guy...

It's not a mine. It drilling a borehole in the field. Under the sky. And analysing the core obtained from it.

This one is why it's so frustrating to even have to try and have a conversation with some people.
You drill a hole. You take out the core while drilling it. That's what you get. Rocks and rocks and rocks. That's what's meant by a borehole in geological terms. You take the core out.
Then they drop something in the hole and pretend that it's the same as what you get when drilling the hole.
Some people really are quite dishonest.
You missed the point. You said you wouldn't EVER find coal there. You said nothing about natural formation of coal and you didn't preclude it being deposited, so your statement of the perpetuity is flawed.

KW, coal "splits" and the thickness of coal seams in many locations do not fit "old Earth" depositional rates and environments.
That's because coal wasn't formed by decaying plant matter over millions of years. It fits the pattern, however, and all validations of the theory of natural origination further validates the Biblical claim that there will be a great falling away from faith in the Lord. As other have postulated, there will be even more stunning evidences to support the notion that the universe formed itself until only a scant few any longer believe in God. These things will happen before the Lord returns. It can be argued that these things have happened, and the Lord can return at any moment.

We'll all still be here when He comes. Global warming won't fry us all. The energy sources He provided for us won't destroy us. We will be here; most of us rejecting Him; when He returns.

Yes, I sure did examine their birth certificates and I did talk to guys who knew more about those rocks than I do. Those birth certificates all were in the form of isotopes and atoms and crystals and, and, and..then some other guys I talked to were guys who actually mine parts of those rocks. And they all demonstrated why they think that those rocks are very, very, old.

People with no or very little forms of education were unable to read those birth certificates, though.

Nope. Absolutely sure. And it wasn't not only me. Other people did analise the core, too. All came to the same conclusion. No coal.

But is your memory of that right, beyond all doubt?
Or only almost totally certain, beyond all reasonable doubt.
The two do the same duty almost all of the time.

That tells me about the existence of religion,
And you can't tell which one is supreme?

You seriously can't tell me which "religion" is BMOC here on earth?

Isn't a worldwide usage of BC/AD a strong enough hint?

Fortunately, none of those people post to this forum.
Question. If God created rock infuse with uranium 238 and handed it to you, how old would that rock be? Keep in mind that uranium 238 has a half life of about 4-1/2 billion years and that you witnessed it being formed before your very eyes. Would it be mere seconds old, or billions of years old?

I'm asking you: Do you, or do you not believe Thor exists? I do.
Me?

Because some people keep on with the argument that because of BC and AD Jesus must be God and other people go on about Thursdays therefore Thor must be God, I'm ambivalent in that case.

I prefer scientific evidence above arguments.

No, I don't endorse it. It discredits certain other valuable sources of information, such as qualitative studies.
Finally!

Now here's a guy that knows how to answer a question the way it was asked!

What does this discussion have to do with Jesus' deity?

Actually, they do. YEC's.
Are you making a claim that those who believe in the Bible are uneducated? Surely you wouldn't hold such a position of ignorance as to assume that those accept God's Word simply have not heard the repeated lies of naturalists throughout high school and college. Surely you're not one of the poorly informed people who think that the ONLY REASON people don't believe as you do is that they've never heard anyone make the claims you believe.
