  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

And you can't tell which one is supreme?

You seriously can't tell me which "religion" is BMOC here on earth?

Isn't a worldwide usage of BC/AD a strong enough hint?

I can tell which one is most popular... must be crowded on that bandwagon, "Independent" Baptist...

Why is there not a "no" option.
Because there's an "Other" option?

Or better still a "these people are unintelligent hypocrites that use their belief to laugh at people who have beliefs based on faith rather than on a bad education"
Well, actually, I'm playing the role of devil's advocate in this thread and actually agreeing with them that the Bible says the earth was created "unmoveable".

Then I'm simply asking what's wrong with it?

Jesus did not.
Jesus said, "For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me; for he wrote about Me. But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?”
Jesus quoted Genesis 1 "But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife; And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder."
Jesus said in Mark 13:9 "For in those days there will be tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the creation which God created until this time, nor ever shall be."

Certainly there are Christians who reject this teaching, but that doesn't make them stronger for the portions they reject. In 15 years, no evolution believing Christian has even been able to show me how the Bible supports what they believe. Not one. Maybe you can.

You might try reading Teilhard de Chardin, the major Jesuit philosopher. He argues that evolution is the way we achieve the Kingdom of Heaven.

In his entire time on Earth, Jesus of Nazareth never once used indoor plumbing. Perhaps we're allowed to do and think some things that he did not?

Are you stronger because of the parts you accept?

If so, stronger than who/what?

KW, try the the Holy Spirit's leading in the Scripture, like your typical course of action.

Hog, Luke 11:52 still applies, experts who show another way to enter. Why shut the door to the King and His Kingdom in our midst.

Maybe you crossed the line.

Or maybe the Holy Spirit led him to Teilhard de Chardin...

Lets see someone explain the geographic region and geologic event that took place for this item I took a pic of below, with headphones representing "for those who have ears to hear".

2016-03-05 11.37.35.png

The strata underneath [reddish] was scoured into massive crossbedded sandstone over hundreds of square miles. This event didn't seem to make into my stratigraphy coursework text, interesting. And I understand why after decades of being around such geologists.

It is unwise to put your trust in men, and follow (listen) to them.

Scientism is just that. Militant atheism is just that. Lukewarmers think they are rich, have increased in good, and have need for nothing, but sit in upchuck.

OK, as long as you aren't leading into "flat earth" theories .........

It is not wise to esteem men whose breathe is in his nostrils. Who think natural man is the highest life in our midst.

So we should trust a mouthbreather instead?

Those who have modernized to scientism, please explain the following coal and sandstone deposition.
Not at all uncommon in coastal environments in the tropics and subtropics. The Okeefonokee swamp is an excellent example as well as the Everglades. I know they teach that in stratigraphy and petrology courses. Did you cut class that day?

I think hessonear cut class for about 3 years, or about the length of a geochemistry degree^_^

I've never been able to get him to discuss any of the specifics concerning geochemistry or stratigraphy. Every textbook on sedimentary petrology discusses in detail how coal is formed and in what environments and associated strata. It is beyond me why someone would think sandstone could not be associated with coal.

Indeed, and his view on climate change is only shared by people with lots of shares in oil and gas companies. There is not a denialist blog he does not hold up as more reliable than actual scientific research.
