Sci-fi dreams?

I wonder if anybody else have sci-fi dream?

My last two this month is Star Trek which funny because I haven't watched any Star Trek material for a year. I've watched Star Wars more recently.

First dream I was part of an "away team" in a planetoid in an asteroid belt, we got stranded there. Not captain, just regular crew. It was fun somewhat with low gravity environment. USS Enterprise (NCC-1701-D Next Gen) came to pick us up. It was colored differently than in the series. The deflector dish and warp nacelles gave an odd, deep purple but very powerful glow. A shuttle came out of Enterprise and went for us. The shuttle was even stranger and did not look like anything in the series at all. It resembled a sting ray and a powerful, deep-purple glow enveloped the whole craft. It resembled a flying saucer when viewed at the side.

Both the Enterprise and the weird-looking shuttle gave off a very creepy aura. The Enterprise went past us and met secretly with oddly-dressed, very creepy-looking group. They were standing in formation wearing all-black attire and they were doing something that's also giving off that creepy deep-purple glow.

2nd dream. I was a designer testing an AI fighter against a crewed Starfleet vessel. Both craft looked far more advanced and futuristic than anything in the series. Both craft looked like sting rays, the crewed ship being larger. They engaged in mock combat, phasers set to "training intensity". The shields are also different. Triggering an image of a glowing, blue honeycomb when hit. Jean Luc Piccard watching. Later that day, we boarded the crewed ship. It was unlike any Starfleet vessel. There were no warp nacelles, no visible deflector. The craft had no glowing part, otherwise, painted in white. The warp core inside glowed in red-orange (unlike the typical blue glow of starfleet warp cores) and the warp core cavity is shaped like a heart, like the emoticon.

Weird dreams, kinda trippy and somewhat creepy/scary.

Mine usually involve lots of running through multidimensional stuff - think Dr Strange meet's the VR from 3 body problem.

I've seen some VERY high definition nuclear blasts - like the beginning of Fallout.

Also - giant spiders. I don't know if that's Harry Potter, Shelob from LOTR, or Sci-Fi - but things a meter across running and climbing up onto my chest and stabbing me in the face or neck - ugly ugly ugly!

I can't believe I've had these dreams too.

The giant spiders are most disturbing because I still saw them for a time after waking up and conscious and then slowly fading out. Made me wonder if these are real, existing from another dimension.

They come in all sizes down to microscopic size. I also see them during trance-like state. Tracing them to another weird reality that is nothing but computer chips and fiber optic cables looking like a giant computer or perhaps, a computer the size of a planet. The computer chips and cables looks exactly like the ones we're using. The spiders seem feeding off the fiber optic cables. Some of the big spiders are sentient and we're able to communicate in English. Have the personality of a robot though. Waging war against humanity. It could be AI but then it also asked me to take care of its little ones.

I never read Rendezvous with Rama. Last year, I did watched the original Matrix. It had sentimental value to me because it reminded me of my old life.

Or maybe from Starcraft II and the spiders represented the Zerg. Real crazy stuff, I had recurring dreams of the game heroine's life experiences from her childhood, becoming a lab rat and assassin for the Dominion, capture and assimilation by the Zerg to her eventual meeting with the arch-nemesis in the game. And I've had these dreams LONG BEFORE there's even Blizzard Entertainment. 10 years before the story fiction was even written.

My sister also witnessed supernatural occurrences while I'm having these dreams. Made me wonder if these are just dreams or perhaps a memory or somebody else's memory from a forgotten time or future events that is yet to take place.

Speaking theologically I don't know that we need dreams any more. It's a '4 sola's' thing - I'm a fairly conservative Reformed kind of guy. As you are interested in dreams - here is a podcast that explores dreams from a Christian point of view. It's a broad ranging conversation about the science, theology, past weird medieval (pre-reformation) catholic ideas on interpreting dreams - and then some more modern stories.

I've has SF dreams on a few occasions, maybe the earliest was when I was in Kindergarten. Only one dream I recall was loosely based on a TV show, some kid-oriented SF program. Wasn't even part of the action. Just dreamed I was in the same setting and saw some of the characters sitting at a table in a break room, and they weren't quite as clean-cut like the TV version. Nothing bad, but they looked tired, dirty, and in a slightly bad mood.

Sometimes I dream these things as though I'm watching a movie. There was one I jotted down after I woke that I dreamed from start to finish. Never did anything with it. In another, there was a soldier, part of a team, on a planetoid under an attack that had taken out the atmosphere generators and the planetoid was quickly loosing air. The soldier was injured and volunteered to stay behind so the team could reach the objective, knowing that there would be no rescue ship and he would die from lack of oxygen. Then a group of colonists heading the wrong way blunders into him, and he has to lead them to the evac point or they'll die. Didn't dream the conclusion to that one.

There was another I barely remember, a SF horror B movie, at a biological research lab in the arctic. Said lab of course concocted a monster that was cold sensitive and could drown but was intelligent so opening the lab doors wouldn't work. They trapped the monster in a sealed box and dropped it into the ocean, the door designed to open on impact. That way, the box would flood and drown the monster. Except the door didn't open and the hero had to drop from the helicopter onto the box, open it, and hopefully grab a rope and get hauled up before he fell into the icy water and died. Except the monster saw the rope, too, and at that point I woke up.

I had a dream like this but I was the "monster".

I looked like a normal human and locked up in a lab with a nuclear self-destruct option. The scientists instructed me to extract some of my blood and put my blood on water but my blood can undergo metamorphosis when it came into contact with water and spawned terrifying creatures that looked like Scott Ridley's "exomorph" alien but a lot smaller.

The creatures are harmless to me but went straight for the bomb-proof windows trying to get out or trying to get out so they can kill the scientists outside who are studying us.

Something went wrong somehow and the scientists activated the nuclear self-destruct and evacuated. In fact, the dream went on until the nuclear device exploded, with me in it. It didn't hurt at all in the dream, totally painless and the dream ceased.

The scientists thought a nuclear self-destruct was necessary because they can't risk even my DNA escaping. They fear my blood/dna would wipe out all animal life on the planet like the alien biological super-weapon in Scott Ridley's "Prometheus" film.

Last night I had a Star Trek dream again. This time, I was embedded with an outcast Ferengi faction.

These Ferengi faction didn't cared much for profit nor latinum. They lived much like the Maquis and treated their women as equals and served alongside with men, including combat. Really nice people and I became friends with them. I was surprised to find our old house (in real life) within the community, now owned by one of the Ferengis and looks real nice now. I was tasked in the recovery of a classified Federation escape pod that is about to crash-land in their community. Eventually, the contents of the pod turned out to be a sentient AI within an android body with the personality of a teenager.

This is actually the 3rd dream I had of our old house. Always in a futuristic setting and always in renovated form and always WAAYYY nicer than our old house. The walls are surfaced with a very dark shade of granite. It almost looked like the insides of an alien ship, also brimming with cutting edge tech.

Next mission was infiltrating a Shogun-era Japan with aliens on my team. We could walk, run, glide over water and possessed super-human strength.

I think all my Star Trek dreams so far I was working for Starfleet Intelligence. NOT really my first choice career with the Federation. I much prefer non-military commercial operations like captain/helmsman/navigator of a transport or cargo vessel or even station ops (DS9).

Really not the most exciting job working half of the time as undercover agent for Starfleet. It's dangerous and dreary most of the time. Some of the assignments have been nightmarish so I could actually be working for Section 31.

Earlier dreams suggest that I'm either a "Founder" or a "Prophet" with the known ability to shape-shift, taking various forms and alien races actually pass up us a genuine replica of a certain alien race in security sensors. Starfleet is aware of my abilities and taken advantage of it using me as undercover agent. Who knows, I could actually be a double agent still working for the Founders or even the Pah Wraiths!

The dreams actually goes all the way back to this present period when I became part of an off-world paramilitary force for an "above-top secret" organization. Think Area 51 stuff and saw the beginning of a WWIII-like conflict when "hostile" undercover aliens came down to Earth seemingly attempting to start WWIII by detonating nuclear devices around the world. They did not come in motherships (like in Independence Day film or War of the Worlds). They sent a handful of elite units instead, able to blend perfectly with the human population, sabotaging key areas. They planned to wipe out our fighting capability by causing us to fight amongst each other.

The dreams does not mention which faction I'd be siding with although I kept a neutral stance in the dream simply acting as an observer, even interacting with the aliens at times but never acting against them nor helping them.

You may want to read all of Ephesians 6. Sounds like you are in training in Spiritual warfare.

It seemed that way. The Lord did tell me few years ago that I'll be in training.

Last night I just have the weirdest dreams of my life. I had maybe 30 different dreams that are related to each other happening in just one night.

Several of them were "dreams within a dream". It was generally pleasant but a little bit tiresome because last night felt like a few days have passed.

The dream was mostly mundane except there's few fiery UFOs in the sky that looked like it's on fire. I was hanging out with friends in that dream. People that did not exist in real life. I was telling them about my dream, not realizing that I'm still dreaming! Then one of the fiery UFO took me and I woke up for real and then went back to sleep and had another dream that is related to the previous dream.

The last dream was like the 2018 Sci fi, Horror film "Bird Box" in combination with Stephen King's "The Mist". The other-worldly creatures resembled the creatures in the Mist film but follows a mechanic like in the Bird Box film. The creatures can't see nor harm you unless you see them first. In order NOT to see them, I hid myself in a box. A group of scientists came and managed to rescue me as they figured out a way to stay hidden from the creatures using electromagnetic or sonic frequencies (not sure which one).

In between, the dreams feel like I'm being trained to fly, like literally fly. Some unseen being keeps putting me at the edge of a cliff. I did fall once and I fell down like a feather. I was afraid at first and then fear turned into joy. Eventually, I stopped being afraid of it but I still did not learn how to fly.

Going to look at it with more time. Maybe others will have more, but sounds fascinating. Loved Bird box and The Mist. The mist had a very sad ending though, but from what i know of those movies, there can be great insights there...

Hey, I'm back. Your dreams are fascinating. I don't know if they are all from God, but i see some incredible insights that one can learn from.

The UFOs may speak of demonic forces. Maybe there is anger associated with that. They've captured you. Have you found yourself associated with others that are angry, or very passionate about something?

The next portion reminds me of what God has more than once shown me in some of my dreams. He sometimes shows me demonic forces at work. Once i try and warn others of their plans they take notice of me and cone after me because i am ruining their plans to influence others, and i feel they often then try and ensnare us in the same thing they are ensnaring others at that particular time.

Maybe you are trying to hide your true self with the box portion ???

Fear is like clipping a birds wings. It will imprison you. Maybe God is looking to give you that push you need to overcome your fears. You didn't fly yet, but it wasn't the end of you and you found joy.

So I don't know if all your dreams are from the Lord, but like life around us or watching a movie, we can see the scriptures at work.

They are fascinating. Still short on time but look forward to seeing more.

I mentioned "UFO" simply because I can't identify the flying thing I saw in my dream. There's quite a few examples of UFOs in the Bible where the witness like Ezekiel had to use made-up terms for it because it didn't look like anything he knew.

And to save the reader from excessive details. To be precise, what I saw in that dream are birds flying together but they were no ordinary birds for they were on fire. They flew in a very tight formation in the shape of the "Star of David" like the one in the flag of Israel

The next portion reminds me of what God has more than once shown me in some of my dreams. He sometimes shows me demonic forces at work.

I used to encounter evil spirits in my dreams but not lately.

Maybe you are trying to hide your true self with the box portion ???

I have nothing to hide. My relatives and friends knows who I really am inside. Even in this forum, I have freely revealed all my problems and issues even if know it can potentially make me very unpopular. I have fairly radical perspective of theology and I have been sharing it whenever there's an opportunity.

The reason I'm hiding in the dream is simply to avoid monsters that are hunting people in that dream.

I only fear God. Though there are many things I want to do but unable to due to poverty and mental issues since childhood. I may sound smart but because writing gives me time to gather my thoughts. Real time conversation I fail to be spontaneous because I think way too slow and have problems with memory retention that compounds the problem and causes major problems socializing with people.

I seem to be getting healed and getting better but it's painfully slow.

I have this crazy thought maybe it's literal flying. Because I get the same feelings in the dream in real life sometimes. Gravity is fading and I feel like I might levitate. I was in church one time it happened. I thought I was getting raptured or something!

They sent a handful of elite units instead, able to blend perfectly with the human population, sabotaging key areas. The dreams does not mention which faction I'd be siding with although I kept a neutral stance in the dream simply acting as an observer, even interacting with the aliens at times but never acting against them nor helping them.

Appears you are a big Star Trek fan so if the Lord is trying to reveal something to you in your dreams with them, i can see why he'd use this theme.

Had to do a little research, but appears the ferengis were legalistic and capitalists, seeking profit. Reminds me of those ensnared in legalism and self gain.

Legalism is self driven. The law, self, and fear are interwoven. Where you see one, you see the others. You are driven by personal gain due to fear.

Simple example would be why you don't go into a store and steal. Fear of the law and jail holds you back.

By contrast, the Jesus, Holy Spirit, and Godly love are self-sacrificing. Where you see one you see the others.

You don't steal because you love God and neighbor. Love drives you.

As outcasts this group is not part of the legalistic group, therefore, have been rejected. You feel at home with them. The more modernized style may speak of new covenant living.

The pod may speak of a false doctrine that is looking to infiltrate that community.

I used to encounter evil spirits in my dreams but not lately.

I have nothing to hide. My relatives and friends knows who I really am inside. Even in this forum, I have freely revealed all my problems and issues even if know it can potentially make me very unpopular. I have fairly radical perspective of theology and I have been sharing it whenever there's an opportunity.

The reason I'm hiding in the dream is simply to avoid monsters that are hunting people in that dream.

I only fear God. Though there are many things I want to do but unable to due to poverty and mental issues since childhood. I may sound smart but because writing gives me time to gather my thoughts. Real time conversation I fail to be spontaneous because I think way too slow and have problems with memory retention that compounds the problem and causes major problems socializing with people.

I seem to be getting healed and getting better but it's painfully slow.

I have this crazy thought maybe it's literal flying. Because I get the same feelings in the dream in real life sometimes. Gravity is fading and I feel like I might levitate. I was in church one time it happened. I thought I was getting raptured or something!

Listen, i know a lot of people classified as mentally handicapped, so to speak, somd are relatives ... Bipolar, autism, schizophrenia. I personally sense that they are very gifted in an area, but it also makes them very sensitive to enemy forces.

Some advice:

Don't call yourself crazy. You are not crazy. You are wonderfully made by your creator.

I'm all for professional help if that's called for, yet you need to be careful about what you are feeding your mind and soul. If you are so gifted, it can make you very sensitive to those things.

You are special. You are gifted. You may have particular challenges due to that, but that is what they are. You are not crazy.

And sorry if i missed it there, just thought i remembered reading elsewhere that some times you feel like you are crazy.

We all do at times. Some of us more than others. Don't take on the world's labels.

God showed me once that if i continued to call myself crazy i would severely handicap my spiritual life. It's what the enemy of our souls want.

On a rare occasion the Lord will take me out of my body. Like once i came out of my body real fast, and was flipped over. Shortly afterwards someone i knew that addicted to drugs at the time came by looking for money. My heart was always very soft to them, but it changed. I was hard as stone and gave them an earful

I believe what God showed me was how my heart had changed. I never read more into what God shows me so i won't say God did it if I don't know, possibly, or maybe he was just showing me this big flip my heart had done for whatever reason. Maybe the other needed that at that time.

Wanted to add i do believe it was the Lord's work that had hardened my heart as i considered it because i was surprised and kind of shocked how hard my heart was towards this individual. It wasn't like a gradual change that i saw coming, but a sudden big shift in my heart.

Do i know for sure it was God. No. He hadn't revealed that to me ... Just how I'm leaning ...

I still know this person and it's soft again, with moments of hardening ...
